All my bikes have been hard to start when cold... (apart from my scooter)

But you learn to start them. Don't worry about it.

Have fun riding it! And be careful.

Chuck some redex through it, and maybe replace the battery. Or maybe it just needed good run if it wasn't starting cold after being stored. Mines a '99 and if I don't get it started in the first 3 times I know I'm gonna have to bump it. Its not a problem, normally choke full on and as soon as it catches give it a squirt of juice and then it will idle erratically fine.

I thought bandits were known for this and most people just chuck loads of choke on and it starts fine.

My little 50, needs choke to start if its been out in the cold, if in my nice garage it goes without choke.

yeah, when i first got the CG i flooded it trying to start it
When i first got the Hornet it took me 5 or 6 attempts to keep it running from cold.

U get used to it

It will be manual choke, u are using it yeah?
Normally on the handlebars on the left side.

I would be wary if an owner had a bike all warmed up ready for you, i like to view a bike when its stone cold to hear how it starts...

But yea i had a 97 Bandit, Good bike, Watch out for the collector box between the downpipes and can, its made out of very mild cheeselike metal and they all rot away,

Bridgestone BT-021's are the best tyres IMHO for the bike, and Braided hoses on the front are a nice improvement in braking feel.

Mine always started on the button often with minimal or no choke, i mean even days before the engine finally packed up and it was running unbelievably rough the tough little bastard never failed to start...

Enjoy, and keep that baby above 7k Wink
