Have to watch this video to understand what i'm about to say;
https://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid1138292711/bctid1453986818
I knew chris when was young, used to play football with him and get upto no good as our crowed would. It was some time ago that he had is accident and i did then and still do feel sorry for him, but i wonder where the line is drawn, when someone doesnt deserve sympathy.
I never really liked chris, mostly because he was sneeky. It was always the small things, like flicking a load of flem on his best friends back when he wasnt looking, or cutting other friends shit deals on weed. Sure non of us were perfect but what really wound me up was the day a kitten come walking over to us and for no reason he kicked the thing so hard it spun round a few times before hitting the kerb.
But that was what he was like, we all knew it, but being a dick never seemed to be a bad thing, just meant you had the balls to do something that others probably wouldn't...
I dunno why i had to say all this now, after so many years, i just want the world, or at least a small part to know that he wasnt such a nice guy as Amir thinks he is. If they all knew the things i did about him would they be willing to help out. I told the cat story to a few animal lovers and their opinions of his instantly changed. Not to the point they were glad of whats happened to him, more one of, well he's got a wicked streak but its still not a horrific thing to happen to a 20something.
So anyway, should i of kept this to myself, the past is the past? |

Sometimes people can change after they become disabled, sometimes for the better and sometimes they get much worse.
Looks like karma for the kitten has already caught up with him huh? Funny how some things happen.
You don't have to like him just because he had an accident and is in a chair now. On the other hand you don't know whether being in the chair has changed his whole attitude to life.
*shrugs*
I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. ____________________ Sod falling in love, I wanna fall in chocolate. |

Did anyone else not quite get the point of his charity?
I thought at first it was a house for loads of disabled people to use and share, but then they said it was his.
It's all nice and that, but why the massive recognition, when to be quite blunt about it, it's pretty selfish. There's loads of disabled people out there who don't even get a second look. ____________________ Full Motorbike License - GS500E '95 |

On a vaguely related topic. Two stories in the news recently.
One of a mentally handicapped girl who was repeatedly raped but no one was prosecuted because she was an unreliable witness. Cue outrage, hysteria etc. This is not justice, we demand justice for her.
The second of a Downs syndrome lad charged with racially aggrivated assault for shoving a girl over at school and calling her 'black face'. Cue outrage, hysteria etc. This is unbelievable, he didn't know what he was doing, how dare they charge this person with a crime.
So, what happens if a Downs syndrome bloke rapes a mentally handicapped woman?
Truth to tell, there is every chance that this is actually what happened. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

If I want sympathy my friends are fond of pointing out that I will find it in the dictionary between shit and syphilis.

Bah, its always pulled out to get sympathy or sway decisions.
My dad always tells a story of a complete dickhead he knew, really spiteful bastard too. Used to give everyone a load of mouth, and one day he got escorted out of a ground floor club via 10 flights of stairs (if you catch my drift).
Anyway, next day the papers are full of;
'Poor epileptic boy, victimised by bullying bouncers because hes different'.
That said, one of the sweetest girls i've ever worked with was deaf. She was a good laugh, but there were plenty of times SHE actually pointed out that she couldn't do X/Y/Z when job allocations came about.
I'm all for disabled people being given a /little/ bit of leeway, but half of this bullshite is just over-reactive pandering.
In this case though, you knew him as a cock before the accident. As has been said, that kind of stuff profoundly changes people. Although he did seem to be soaking that pandering up damn happily. ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...

That was simply a news report to show that if you do become disabled you can sort yourself out. Getting together to round up some pennies means he can have a decent life.
As or him personally it's just amusing and slightly embaressing now that his attitude has totally changed. Funny how taking a guys balls away turns you into a soppy twat. ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.
