Hello lads and ladies,

Well most of you know me, but I like to keep my private life private most of the time but I thought I would share these two bits of good news I have received:

1. It was mine and my Girlfriends 5 year anniversary on last Friday, we have been together since school, and we have just found out she is Pregnant \o/ \o/ \0/

2. I have just been accepted for the fire brigade so my training starts in April and I can finally hand my notice in to this shite company I have been working for for the last 4 years. \o/ \o/

Life is Good,

Mike.

No the baby wasn't planned, I was really shocked at first but now I am really happy because I have always wanted kids. Very Happy

We went to the doctors on Wednesday after she had taken two pregnancy tests which both said positive, the doctor confirmed it and we have the first scan in a week or so.

Well if someone hires an airstrip at least we can say fire safety is taken care of. Laughing Laughing come to think of it I will get first aid training as well so that will be taken care of as well!!!

Told the client I work for that I will be handing my notice in to my company on Monday and they are really pleased for me.

Was planning on buying a house but that is on hold now, as well as the GSXR750 I was gonna buy.

Oh well never mind Very Happy Very Happy

Mike.

Congrats mate!

My wife is about 24 weeks now, due in June. The first scan is great, it finally feels like it's real when you can see the little bugger, it can get a bit scary with all the tests though. We really thought that the scans would just look like a smudge after seeing them on TV, but you really can see a lot.

Good luck.

Congrats mate......

....only problem is though, next time you cane it round your local twisties, you'll have a kid to think about first. I've known people to stop riding so they stay safe and can watch their kids grow up.

All the best for the future anyways!!!

Thanks for the congrats people,

It really means alot to me. I have been so messed up recently wondering where my life was going, with work and with the girlfriend but now everything seems to be coming together nicely.

I have wanted to leave my job for ages but lack of knowing what I wanted to do meant I just toddled along doing the same crap and not really thinking about it, but at the same time wondering what I was going to do with myself.

Then I remembered when I really wanted to be Fireman and that I was actually old enough to apply. So I did and although the tests were nerve racking I carried on with it and passed all with flying colours. Remembering that I was in pretty bad shape fitness wise as I was smoking and drinking a LOT I knew it was going to be hard commiting myself to going to the gym every night to get back into shape but I done it and hopefully now I will reap the rewards. All I have to do now is do what I am told for 3 months and I should (hopefully) make it through.

I have been trying not to get too emotional about the whole baby thing, as I am a proper sceptic and I will only be able to fully believe it and get overly excited about it when like DFreak said when I see the baby on the scan. Also my Girlfriend and her family are getting a little carried away to say the least, and I am trying to be strong for them in case we dont get the news we wanted, and she feels like she has let everyone down. All she said to her mum was I have taken a test and its positive, and her mum was crying and screaming down the phone about how glad she was. When we went round the following night her mum had already bought a baby book and some clothes and then they sat there discussing names for an hour Laughing

Either way I will be happy but fingers crossed for the scan.

Thanks again everyone,

Mike.
