Thought people were joking when they said everyone who joins this forum crashes, after a week of joining crashed my bandit today, gah Sad Too much revs + gear change (possibly) on a corner, think the back wheel spun, next thing I know i'm sliding down the road.

Not too much damage, I hope anyway, need a few bits replacing (plus the crappy scrape marks on the metal work/engine block, whats the best way to sort this ?), I don't see any marks on my helmet so not sure if my head hit the ground so hopefully shouldn't need a new helmet as it's only 2 weeks old, battered my knee though but can walk on it Smile

Anyone know the best place to buy a Novo black screen for a bandit gsf600/s ? Mines rather in pieces

Well I hope that's my first and last crash out of the way, hope to be back on it soon Smile

As an aside, was walking through town earlier, and noticed some guy had left his bike, and locked his helmet to the helmet lock and left it on the floor, that's what it's there for I know but isn't it still rather dangerous due to the amount of idiots around ? The place he parked it is going to have 20,000 football fans walking past it in a couple of hours and I wouldn't want my helmet being booted around Smile

Bah Smile

Sorry to hear about you accident mate, but it seems you're in good spirits. Quite a "nice" crash compared to many on this forum so there is some form on luck in there!
Glad to hear you're ok.
I had a similar accident on my old GPz, Danny's current bike.
I was riding around on a mate's loan bike, a Rebel 125, for half an hour or so pissing around then got back on mine and gave it too much around a corner - doh! That bent my back wheel cos it hit a curb so i had to get a new wheel for the thing.
Dunno about the parts, but www.mandp.co.uk are a good place to start. as for repairing the engine thingy i suspect that'd be pretty hard to do.

I slipped on some diesel a few months ago and buggered up the engine casing (the bit that does the engine timing) and it's had a margerine tub over it ever since to keep it dry Confused

Sounds like your helmet is okay, but that's a judgement call only you can make.

Hope you get it sorted out soon!

Adam

Dunno how likely it is on a bandit but if you high in the revs and drop down a gear you may well lock the rear wheel, or if you knock down 2 gears at once, that's probably what happened. If you were changing up, then you musta jammed the throttle open and slipped the clutch to make the rear spin.

I've yet to do this since I got back on a bike and passed my test (again), came close a few times, but so far stayed on the bike and with both wheels on the road.
