I would have put my bike right behind those two motors on the word motorcycles blocking them both in, if they knock the bike over they cant really deny in court that they were in the wrong.

On a similar note, I quite like that sign they have in other countries, "Take my space, take my disability". Perhaps we can come up with a similar one for those who take motorcycle spaces, "Take my bike, take my chain, across your teeth" or the like... Thinking

Last xmas I think it was I went up to the shopping centre and there where cars all over the motorcycle bay. I had to park on the curb bit beside it and one of the drivers was in the car I lost the rag and knocked the window, asked her what she was doing parked there. Her answer was "all the disabled spots where taken"! this space a good bit away from the centre to.

Then I asked did she know if she was on a motorcycle bay and she up her window and cold shouldered me! I said to her i dont take your disabled spots! Evil or Very Mad so I went into the shops in a fumming mood to get what I needed and came back out and they where still there, only she had another person with her. She then got out and apoligized to me. Embarassed I felt bad shouting at her but this really bugs me as I have only got parking once in that motorcycle bay and there is always cars on it.

Complain, I did once at tesco when some pleb was sat in his car waiting to pick someone up parked in the motorcycle bay.

They sent one of the managers out to him and told him to move and read the signs in future.

Was quite funny cos the bloke was flustered. Laughing

I had this once, the one motorcycle bay in my local town had some biddy parked in it and sat there. I pulled along side and she held up a 'meals on wheels' sheet of paper whilst continuing to look away.

I parked my bike directly behind her, boxing her in, and went shopping.

Came back about 15 minutes later and some fella had now joined her. He got out to say something and I just held up my newspaper whilst looking away.

It has to be the slowest I have ever put a helmet and gloves on.

Sorry to the oldies that had cold dinner Embarassed

I would have parked my bike across them both, with a disc lock and alarm and chain on and a note on the bike saying "move it and I'll call the cops" or something... I would actually do that even if I wasn't intending to park up, just for the sake of it Laughing

You should have parked behind them, gone into the supermarket and bought some flour, water, a bucket, some paper and a big black marker.

Put the flour in the water in the bucket and stir it up. Take a load of pieces of paper and write "MOTORCYCLE" On them.

Then dip the pieces of paper in the water and stick them to the windscreen with the words facing inwards.

If you are feeling particularly aggreived, you could always completely cover their windows.

Don't really see anything wrong with that cos it looks like it's busy and so short of parking spaces. Given how easily bikes can park anywhere I don't see that it's causing a problem to anyone other than those with a chip on their shoulder about how they're a biker.

Get over it, I'm sure there's no shortage of places that a bike could be parked without inconveniencing anybody. Rolling Eyes

True enough if it were not for busy body traffic wardens and their helpers, and all the bikes that get hit by parked drivers who didnt see them.

So if there is an area marked out for a certain reason it should be used by those things only really.

Thats why I limp when I dump the car in a disabled spot. Well I stopped that when I became eligible for parent and child spaces. Cool

What peeves me more is that at the Dental Hospital we've got a M/C bay under shelter, and quite frequently we get people parking over the entrance to it, blocking the whole shelter bit. There is no way of getting into the bay when theres a car there either, so you usually just have to park in the one for pedal cycles only - which can land you a tasty fine of £30 if one of the campus wardens spies it (they're pretty strict about pavement parking here, thus the designated bays), and given that I've usually got clinics from 8.30 to 12 with no break I usually can't get out sooner to move!

I have an idea of buying a cheap chain and lock (£10 max) and just carrying it with me in a pannier and wrapping it wound the wheel of any offending car with a polite notice about where to find meshould they wish the key on the windscreen...having said that though, the wardens are pretty strict and i frequently come out to find a nice 'fixed penalty notice' attached to the w/s, which is nice enough in itself! Laughing

I use motorcycly parking as once I came out to my scooter which I parked just near the door in a bit of a space where no one would walk and a traffic warden was there saying 'Next time park in a normal space'. I nearly got a £70 fine.

That would have been an expensive trip to LIDL Laughing
