Fit is most important but your budget is the limiting factor. You may only go 60 but if car hits you at 30 thats a combined impact of 90, so the better materials will keep you alive (albeit a crippled cabbage) whereas the cardboard helmet will save on future private care costs , just have to pay for the cremation ____________________ 2001 Hornet 600 - "Faster than yellow" Blue; Current: 1998 Yammy FZS 600 "Fazer" Black

The amount of helmets I recently tried on was unreal, from cheap to expensive, all fitted diffrently even so far as to say different fit from different models by the same manufacturer.
In the end there was only one helmet that just felt right as soon as it squeezed onto the old hat rack, that being a Shoei.
The size and fit just varies too much, go and try them on, then it may be safe to buy from the interweb if cheaper. ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |

first off have you actually measured your head or are you just guessing at what size you need?
If you havent then:
get a soft tape measure and measure around the fattest part of your head just above your eyebrows all the way round including the big bump at the back, then take the measurement
That is the size you are aiming for but as already said every company has different shapes and sizes.
you can add a little for longer hair but it doesnt make much of a difference
The helmet when you first buy it should feel over tight like it is very very tight indeed as the comfort padding will bed down and get softer the more you use it - like a matress.
With the helmet on your head and with the chin strap done up you should look in a mirror grab the chin piece of the helmet and try twist it up and down and twist it left and right. There should be absolutely minimal movement, a very slight bit is acceptable but anything over 2cm movement and it is too big try a smaller one.
There are thousands of things i could go into telling you about helmets and shell sizes and the inefficiencys of EC2205
(if you really want to know then PM me and i will put it all in a word doc and e-mail it to you)
But basically buy one that fits or try lots on to find those that fit
and make sure whatever you buy, You buy one with a Double D chin strap |
