I can't stop chuckling at this one!
On the way to work this morning I had to go through a junction that involves 2 sets of lights 50m's apart then a tight right hander. I know when the 1st set of lights change to green, the 2nd take a short while before also changing - so I always set off slowly and time it so I don't need to stop again at the 2nd set, besides which the right hander after is a bugger due to a crappy road surface and those metal studs they put in the road.
Anyway, this morning I come to a stop in the right hand lane at the front. Then a biker comes from behind me and slots into the left lane at the front. He's on an off roader, bright orange with the gear to match and constantly revving it up with an extra loud can attached! Now I don't race on my bike, main reason is it's only a 125 - I don't think I even look like someone who'd ride fast due to all my waterproof gear and the topbox on the back!
1st set of lights change and he's off, big wheelie, lots of noise - cue me thinking "What a wanker...!", then he gets to the 2nd set of lights stops and stalls! I've done my usual slow start off, so go through the 2nd set past him, round the tight bend and I'm off.
At this point I'm also pissing myself and thinking - !!
He ripped past me a little later on whilst I was waiting to do a 2nd right turn, but that has just made my day. So to whoever you were! ____________________ Previous: Aprilia Habana Retro 50cc (beauty), Yamaha SR125 (fell apart), Honda XR125 (nippy little commuter), Honda SLR650 (Geewhizz), Yamaha Diversion 900S (Smoooooth) written off courtesy of a stupid escaped horse.

You get that a lot in city centre riding.
Like you i always laugh at them sat at the lights reving away, shooting off only to catch them at the next set doing exactly the same, while you just roll up and keep a steady pace.
Best bit is they dare not look at you when you shout Hi to them ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |

does no one else like popping the odd wheelie between lights then?
Its not lack or planning or anything, just for fun really. breaks up the commute a bit. ____________________ Current : '08 Yamaha FZ1s

What - showing off, looking like a chavvy immature prick who lacks any road sense? No, not for me really...
That's my personal opinion of course! ____________________ Previous: Aprilia Habana Retro 50cc (beauty), Yamaha SR125 (fell apart), Honda XR125 (nippy little commuter), Honda SLR650 (Geewhizz), Yamaha Diversion 900S (Smoooooth) written off courtesy of a stupid escaped horse.

However much you may laugh at the wheelieing crosser rider, I bet he had the bigger smile on his face at the end of his journey |
Lol, me after seeing him stall and get stuck behind.
Him after arriving at work wishing he hadn't stalled when the slow rider overtook him.
Nah, I reckon I had the bigger smile! ____________________ Previous: Aprilia Habana Retro 50cc (beauty), Yamaha SR125 (fell apart), Honda XR125 (nippy little commuter), Honda SLR650 (Geewhizz), Yamaha Diversion 900S (Smoooooth) written off courtesy of a stupid escaped horse.

An orange crosser sounds very much like ktm to me, which are normally geared very low and makes it hard to keep the front wheel off the floor.
My drz sometimes cuts outs when i come to a stop and click down on the gears, and so does my dads old honda xlr250, must be a 4t crosser problem ? Although on my drz i dont sit there revving it, I sometimes do a bit on the honda but thats because when it cuts out i need to kick start it.
Nice story though |

Any oppertunity for a little wheelie (providing there's no copper in sight). My choice, my risk ____________________ TL1000s, KDX200 |
