just got a carb off ebay for my c90 off a thumpstar pitbike thing in the hope for a cheap boost in power. fitted it no problems as they use the same engine etc its just a bigger carb. i didnt expect to get it running perfectly straight away but anyway with this carb fitted it needs choke to start and remain running and i noticed if i put my hand over the end of the exhaust then white smoke comes out of the exhaust. is this something i can sort with ajustment of the mixture screws? what causes this, as you would imagine tickover is very lumpy. or is the issue likley to be jetting?
thanks for any help ill go change back to the standard carb now so i can get to work ____________________ 3 Honda NC50's(Sold)-->'72 Puch Maxi S (Sold, want it back!)--> '90 Yamaha RXS 100 (Stolen)--> '87 Honda Cub 90(Sold) --> '95 Kawasaki Eliminator (Sold) --> '98 Bandit 600 (Sold) -->'07 SV650S (Current) |

You may have to experiment with the clip position on the needle to get it to run right rather than the mixture screw.
Took a while on the monkey but change position, go round the block, change again...until pulling, sounding and starting right. ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |
