Hi

Long story.

I came out of a 2 year relationship a year ago. I still speak to the girl, I still have certain feelings for the girl, I know she does too - don't think they'll ever go away - but nevermind.

She is in a relationship with a new bf (fair enough, life goes on) however she has not told him that she has been speaking to me still. Even met me a couple of times, for lunch etc. Bought me a xmas present etc.

I sent her a text early on one evening which didn't get through to her until later that evening when she was with said bf. Said bf then called me from her mobile (cue me being sarcastic and telling him he's very attractive etc, probably not one of my wisest moments, but I had been in the pub) and tried to make me come to his house, so he could have a fight with me. Naturally I declined, why would I want to ride to his house to get punched? Tosser.

Anyway, this conversation went on to him telling me he's going to knock me off my puny ( ) bike, slit my throat etc. Generally not very nice things.

Nothings really happened since, I've sent a few messages to her and I will get small talk answers back, but nothing of any relevance to the questions I have asked (because they are difficult for her to answer).

What would you do?

I wouldnt worry about the threats, he would see you as a threat if you where phoning her and lash out. All talk probably. If she is with a new fella then she would need to sort herself out if she wants to be back with you, but as you said it was just small talk after the words you and her new bf had maybe she dosnt. No one knows there is always two sides to every story. But best way to always sort things out is be up front, direct to the point and honest. Just ask, you got nothing to loose.

I'm not too worried about the threats, I won't lose sleep over it.

I think she needs to sort herself out full stop... for instance her bf doesn't know she's still sending me messages - not as though there is anything to hide which is why I'm a little confused that she doesn't just tell him we still speak, because that's all it is, speaking.

Ah well a relationship built on a web of lies will collapse eventually - but I'm having nothing to do with it.

If you left on good terms and both know that you're not gonna rekindle the relationship then it's up to her to explain to her current squeeze that friendship can override the (for 'the' read 'his') animalistic need to shag. I've had very similar situations, ex-girlfriend with an utter tosser of a boyfriend. She used to always come round and stop just short of sex, etc.

Made me feel like she was just with him cos she couldn't have me, and was always texting, phoning and appearing at my door.

I found out later (after a couple of incidents with said piece of smegma) that she'd been running her mouth that it was me harassing her.
