 |

Right I am really confused now.
I know the powerband is the range of revs you get the most power right?
Well I was outside work today and these two chavs from work, who know something about bikes started asking me if I had a powerband on my GPR 50. The conversation went something like this:
Chav: "Nice bike mate bla bla bla..."
Me: "Thanks all that...."
Chav: "Have you got a powerband on this?"
Me: *Laughs*
Chav: "Do you?"
Me: "Theres no such physical thing mate"
Chav: "Wtf? Yeah there is!!!!"
Me: "Nah mate..."
Chav : "OMFG, yes there is! Damon had one on his bike..."
Me: "Im sure he did mate"
Chav : "Oi Chris *to the guy in the car* dont bikes have powerbands"
Chav2 : *Comes over and has a look at my bike and at th engine* "Yeah you dont have one mate" *points at a little cover on the side of the bike* "Have you ever taken this off?"
Me: "No..."
Chav2: "Yeah if you take that off theres a little pin inside, if you pull that out then you will get power from lower in the rev range"
Me: "Im sure I will mate."
Chav2: "Yeah you will see this thing that turns inside and theres a pin that stops it"
Me: *Baffled*
Chav2: *Puts his ear right next to it and gets me to turn my ignition on and off* "Nah mate I can't hear yours it must be electric"
Me: "Oh right..." *Totally amused and confused lol*
I was just so confused because I know everyone rips it out of chavs who think powerbands are physical things but they seemed so conviced about them...well it amused me.
But just for clarification, they were chatting bollocks weren't they?
Cheers,

They could have just been confusing it with a power valve, which is probably what most people do. Coming from the old ypvs days.

What are you talking about Matthie?
The newer GPRs come with powerbands as standard!
White GPRs have Satin black for cruising low down torque, and the red ones have white powerbands for unbermegaturbosuperboost past 7k revs.

You blatently had a suspicion they could be real hence the making of this thread,
which invalidates your opinion on anything on this forum ever again.
You should have slapped him around the face and asked if his car had a t4 turbo that he might of bolted on too? ____________________ Past: '05 Peugeot XPS '99 Aprillia RS125 '94 FZR600R
