Just another crappy import?

I'm interested in the GT125R, and i'm inmterested too know if they are actually a decent companty, or just another cheapo chinese company (even though they are korean)

Are spairs readily availible from a UK distributor, and are they a good quality?

I can get a new shape CG125 for 1.2k off my step dad, or get a GT125r for 1.5k

Naturally the CG isn't the coolesart bike around, compared to the Hyosung, So i'm hopping the GT125 is as reliable.

Any advice help, or reviews would be so much help.

Thanks Devans

Hyosung are Korean and alot better than Chinese. More than alot.

Basically the same as getting a Jap or Euro bike Thumbs Up

Not sure how true it is, but my local dealer who sells Hyosungs said that the engines are Suzuki - but i can't find any confirmation of this yet.

He also reckons that they're good bikes, you just need to spend more time maintaining them (tightening up all the bolts regularly) than Japanese stuff.

i sat on one, and it felt massive for a 125 and looked ok, but with all that extra weight i'm not sure they'll keep up with a lighter japanese equivalent.

MCN seemed to like them too.

They aren't (although Hyosung build engines for Suzuki). The 650 engine is similar to an SV engine, but there are differences (probably just enough to fall out with Suzuki).

All the best

Thanks everyone, that's just what i wanted to here.

Kal i have searched earlier and last night and found nothing on the quality of Hyosung bikes, there's no need to be rude by posting a search picture. I've seen you posting such content before on here, and i seem you like causing trouble.

It's neither helpfull or funny in many respects.

I had a hyosung GT125 and my friend had the R model

We both had the naked model so not the newest

Reliability wise it never set a foot wrong, had a few things to do but only the consumables (CLutch and throttle cable)

I did do a review a while back, search my posts and you should find it.

Should also help you convince anyone that its not a bad bike if you need to!

I have Comet GT125

I've not ridden my bike for a while now; I dropped it and the peg broke off, I just haven't got round to ordering a new one, until last night! Been over 1 month now.

It's a good bike and a really nice looking bike - in my opinion. I've been asked many a time what size of engine it has, and people are very surprised to find out it's only a 125. I have added a different exhaust to mine and it sounds great! The only thing that lets it down is the speed Sad

On a calm day, it should do 60 without any problems. However, when it starts to get windy, the bike really struggles! It just feels gutless!

As I said, it's a nice looking bike, reliable and good on fuel, just isn't the fastest of bikes.

I bought my peg from here, they seem to have everything. Just need to wait on it being delivered now.

In fairness,he was being helpfull...
A high percentage of the threads i've read on here about hyosungs have turned into a discussion about the build quality e.t.c.
You sure you were searching the right forum?
I just done a quick search to make sure the threads were still there, and they definately are.(one of them from me when i had a hyosung)

About 75 (indicated) on mine which is about the same as the cbr125.
Thumbs Up

I'm currently running around on a GT250R and can't really fault it, never let me down and smooth as you like.

There is on average 1 thread on Hyosungs and build quality, spares availability etc etc per week.

Jul 17th GT650R

July 28th GT125

July 16th GT125

Although you are quite correct most of my patience has gone looking for my usual sunny disposition, leaving me a little less forgiving than I usually am.

I bought a Aquila GV125 to learn on and pass my test with - great bike and never a problem, just oiled the chain and filled with fuel.

Good value for the money.

Keep in mind the GT125r is pretty much the same size as a typical 600, substantially heavier than its 125 rivals.

Weight should have neglible effect on top speed.

All the best

Had mine a month now, good quality bike! I cant comment on how the build quality is in winter. But the build quality so far is excellent, it handles and stops well. Only minor niggle i have with it, is that the chain needs adjusting more than it did on my CBR.

But overall im pleased with it, alot better built than a Honda CBR 125 and handles better also.

To be honest the alarm bells started ringing when people compared the build quality 'as almost as good as Suzuki"
