Just finished atour of scotlands coastline which was fantastic as was the bike.

At present though she seems a bit sluggish and takkes her time to gain power, she also conks out a bit and it's not me/cold weather or the revs being too low either.
She has had an oil and filter change and rear wheel re-alignment by my fair hands.

Think she needs a service but want an insight of what could be her main problem, being female i don't want hear load of speel when i take it to a garage, just the problem and to know whether I can fix it myself...

Any one in the know about gs 125's with about 13,000 km?

regards

I'd check the valve clearances and make sure the carburettor is clean and still in good condition. That is if you haven't already done them since you got the bike.

They probably won't have even been looked at if it was before 2000/4000km.

If you got a Haynes and a buddy to help you, I reckon you could do the valve clearances. It should be doable on a GZ if you take your time and follow the manual step by step. Some people just prefer to get a garage to do engine work though. Fair enough Very Happy

edit: Oh by the way, you made about 5 posts. Laughing

New plug and clean the air filter and a general service. I would not mess with the carb untill you have checked/changed all the consuables.
