Craig Jones passed away during the night

I got this information from another forum i use. There is also an article on a Dutch news website.
It seems that Craig Jones sadly passed away last night in hospital after being resusitated 4 times on the track.

I was standing at Clarke curve yesterday and saw the accident, and him being flown off in the air ambulance.

This guy was a brilliant rider and I'll certainly miss watching him race.

When I saw it I was hoping he was just knocked unconscious and would make a recovery in a couple of rounds time and then I just read the story on the BBC's site.

If you watch the crash he was out pretty much instantly, you can see this from the way he rag dolled across the track, which looked horrible.

I feel really terrible after witnessing the crash and now reading this awful news.

Was watching this as well with my old man, knew as soon as the other bike struck him that he was out cold as he just ragdolled down the track. I didn't realise how young he was and it was the first Superbike races id watched as i've never been into it and it was good action, but this crash brought it home a bit.

As MJ said it makes you feel quite bad witnessing it and then hearing the news.

Jesus, horrible news. I only saw the start of the race and heard them talking about it being red flagged later on, but I didn't know it was anything so serious.

RIP, such a tragic loss of a great britsh racer I remember over 7years ago when fastbikes saw him as an up and coming racing talent when he won the superstock 600 on a gsxr600 k1.

I nearly shed a tear when hearing this, abosulutely tragic, sad sad day for british motorcycling.

I didn't watch the race directly but wanted to know the exact circumstances. I won't post the link here because it's totally inappropriate and i have to say that it was such a tragic loss of life from a guy i used to watch on eurosport contending on his Foggy Petronas with so much potential then. The whole scene just made me go cold. RIP

There's a guestbook on his site here, which sadly is now a book of condolences.

I saw the accident and wish I hadn't, as it's not something you easily forget.

Always sad when young kids die. My thoughts are with his family and friends, as well as with Andrew Pitt.
