Evening all, or should that be morning?

..anyway, I've been wanting to go out on my bike for the last two days, but just haven't had the time. I decided to go a run tonight, but by the time I got out it was dark. I ended up driving around for about 2hrs which included some county roads.

Up until now, I always though my lights were more than bright enough, but tonight I found it really difficult to see while out on the back roads. I would like to upgrade my headlights to improve visibility, can anyone recommend some decent bulbs?

Is there such a thing as HID kits for bikes?

Cheers,
Steven

Naked bikes is pretty easy, can just stick some driving lights on the front and it will suit the general style of the bike anyway. You will need to add a relay into your high beam circuit which will switch on a circuit that connects the lights to the battery. You can have a seperate switch to turn them on and off instead of wiring them through a relay controlled by your high beam connection, but it makes them harder to dip quickly and if you dont dip them your going to find every oncoming vehicle will flash you.

Here's some example lights, probably best to go have a look in Halfords and see what will suit your bike stylewise, then go see if you can find them cheaper elsewhere like on ebay:

You need to check you bulb connection type and wattage. I'm sure for 125's it might be 35W. If it's a H4 connector, chances are that you'll be able to facilitate HID's. You can also try shoving in 65W bulbs like Philips Extreme Vision (very bright incandescent light) and white-ish. I hold no responsibilities or guarantees that it will NOT fry your wiring loom or discharge your battery, but i had 2x philips vision plus on my ZXR250 which were originally designed for the 35W bulbs and they worked fine.

I give up on flashing people that don't dip. I just stay on main beam to see how they like it, they soon get the message.

Better off getting some Hella DE's 1 fog and 1 driving as the fog have a flat pattern and can be on all the time and the driving can be wired to main beam as suggested.
