the haynes manual is for using stock everything.
you dont have a stock exhaust.
meaning you probably need to go up a size of jet. ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. In summery, mattsprattuk is a gobby little sh1tebag, dopehead tw4t, but sadly for all of us, he probably isn't THAT full of sh1te!!

if you have the same jets as stated in the haynes manual, then definatly upjet it, as it could be running lean which can work out pretty badly on a 2 stroke.
not a clue what size to use, so someone else can step in with that one. ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. The 'needle jet pipe' in your drawing is called the emulsion tube. Not all carbs have the emulsion tube holding the main jet, but that one does by the looks of it. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

Borrowed a box of Mikuni carb jets from work today. The smallest one that was above a 120 was a 140. I fitted this but now it 4 strokes at 7,000rpm. Going to have to buy a 130 now
Had a complete panic moment though. When I took the carb apart I didn't use the manual because I'm stupid and thought it can't be that hard. I did not realise there was a float needle valve. Looked at my Haynes manual to rebuild it and it said Do not lose the float needle valve!.
I just went into a complete 'You fucking idiot' mode (sort of like crying without tears ). After a bit of running around I went back to my carb to just look at the thing I had ruined. I look underneath the carb and spotted a small metal needle stuck under the gearbox breather pipe. I ran to my dad shouting 'I've found the needle' Panic over
I won't do that ever again. |
