Just make a throttle stop. Get a dyno print out at 33bhp. That is valid proof you can show to your old man, and whether you keep them in is up to you. ____________________ Don't practice it until you get it right, practice it until you don't get it wrong.

As titz said i got a throttle stop and dyno print out for only £90, got it done at road and track dyno in aylesbury.
Click me
Thats his site just give him a call saying you want a throttle stop and dyno print out for a 33bhp restriction. Only takes 30-40 minutes and the print out is proof it's restricted, easy to take out and put back on if you needed too.
By far the best and easiest way of restriction in my eyes, only thing is overtaking can be a bit of a pain sometimes because the throttle just stops and you can't turn it anymore ____________________ |--Previous--|:2007 Aprilia SX50... --Current--|: 2007 Kawasaki ER-6N

I'd say, that I haven't heard of anyone being completely fucked over by being unrestricted.
Would be interested to hear some anecdotes though...
All you have to do is get a couple of washers fabricated, it's hard to find the exact diameter without a bit of digging, as FI washers are oval shaped (in an attempt to stop people copying them I guess)
Anyway, find correct diameter to limit power, get washers punched of the right size (can't cost more than £20 or something), fit them yourself, and drop the bike on a dyno (which is what they'd do if you crashed, anyway, I assume) et voila, less than half price of FI ____________________ Past: 96 P Aprilia RS125 - 97 R Honda CB500 | Current: 00 W Suzuki SV650s

But presumably that would only work with washers from something with similar power like a CB500 or GS500, whereas washers from something like a TDM900 would have smaller holes because it needs more restricting or am i thinking the wrong way about this?
Im not planning on using the restrictors from anything else by the way, just curious.

Restrictors are besoke (usually to the bike) though you may be able to switch them about on similar bikes, e.g. CB - GS, because they have similar engines that make similar power.
The TDM has a throttle stop .
But you are on the right line the more power the smaller the hole would need to be. With usages of a dyno a throttle stop would be easier to fabricate.
My previous post was talkin about manufacturing the kit yourself, i.e.
Your GPZ has twin carbs each with an intake diameter of 10cm (Big I know)
You divide 10/2 to get the radius 5,
pi5 squared to get the area 78 (rounding)
Half the area so you get the amount of airflow for 33bhp (you only air it because the gpz is twice 33bhp, for I bike with a 100 you would 1/3 it)
39/pi and square routed give your the raidius 3.5 double it to get the diameter 7.
So if you intake was 10cm you would want a washer with a 10cm outer diameter and a 7cm inner diameter.
Honestly it is not as confusing as it sounds.
The easier way is to go on a GPZ forum and see if you can buy some washers/ get someone to give you the dimentions. ____________________ Well, you know what they say. If you want to save the world, you have to push a few old ladies down the stairs.
