Years ago I started off with one of the original KH125's, at the time I liked it but wanted to move onto bigger things once I had passed my test.

Now I realise some of the bigger ones I got were a big mistake, too dear to run, too heavy. Now I am hankering for another KH125.

Would anybody else have another first bike?

My first, and therefore previous, bike was an Arpilia RS50. I thought it was a great bike, with some mods it was very fast, great fun in the bends and even managed to over take bigger bikes on many occasions, especially roundabouts - much to their confusion! Twisted Evil
that little bike even taught me a lot about mechanics as it needed two engine rebuilds in the time i had it, once when i bought it to do,a nd once not long before i sold it because the seal i'd used originally wasn't a genuine part - but lasted many miles.

but all that said, i dont think i'd personally have another one. but if i have kids one day - and they show an interest in bikes then i'll definitely try and get them the same sort of bike.

The Thundercat is a great bike. I was thinking what bike did you first do the test on, would you have another one of these?

I'd definitely have another if I could get one in good condition.

Well it was a 50cc runner scooter if that counts, wouldn't have another 50 but would definitely get a runner 125 to nip to town on any day. Small scooters are much more fun in urban areas than bike's imo.

Technicaly an xreg gilera runner 50 did about three miles before i decided scoots arn't for me I even fitted 180 sp forks and shock to try and get it to feel nicer to ride with no avail, went thru a few bikes in a couple of months and finnaly settled on a y reg hyosung cruise 2 which i class as my first bike (first long term bike)

100% reliable economical and pretty good for a first bike, custom painted mine head to toe kawasaki pearle orange with black flames pinstriped in silver, blacked the engine and polished the cases and fins, custom exhaust, saddle bags, screen the lot, i fitted stiffer shocks and added fork spacers to handle my 6'5 self and the bike did handle well.

The only real gripe with the bike is its tendancy to for the chain to resonate vibration if its was little loose and sounded horrible untill you adjusted the chain,

All in all it stood well to year round use for three years or so and if i was back on a 125 i would probably get another one.

I have just tried using the rac free reg checker to see if it was still on the road but can't find the checker on their site anymore Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

The Kwak AR80 and 125 was very popular learner bike in the 80's. I wouldn't mind one of them now, the styling was cutting edge at the time and cast wheels.

My first bike was a CM125C. Okay, got me about, 65mph top whack, or there abouts. Taught me the basics ready for my test, sold it for a 400/4 when I passed.

Buy another one? Hmm, finding one would be difficult. I've made do with buying a CG125 instead, much easier to find. And good lord, it's dog slow, has no brakes, gets into an interesting wobble when you coax the thing into a bend at 60mph and sounds like a hedgetrimmer....just about perfect.

https://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj226/UnseenPower/Photo0014-1.jpg

that is my current bike which is also my first. i still love riding her and i think she is beautiful. i have booked my theory test on friday the 5th of sept so if i do pass that, and my practical test, i will sell her on. it will be a sad day since i have had her for 3 and a half years.

just looking at the pics from other users, i have sort of become fans of old skool lookign bikes. i'm 23 so either my tastes are starting to change or the looks of these bikes are growing on me considerably.

Did you have to renew your CBT after the second year?

First bike was a Gilera GSM50 SuperMotard...

Would i have another one? Not a chance.

Was a nice bike and everything, but i wouldnt want another 50.

As for my other bikes, NSR, GS500, SV650 - Yes, would have another one of each tomorow if i could afford it.

well i did book it on the 2nd and a few months year, but i was 45 mins late and also i forgot my counterpart. i was late ebcause i was scared that my cbt ran out and that i would not be able to ride my bike there. sadly the bus was a disgrace to wait for. anyway i also forgot my counterpart which was game over. the cbt guy was willign to take me in even thoguh i was 45 mins late until i realised i forgot my counterpart. i had to call them back the next day on monday and was told my 139 was forfeited and that they can book me in for a enxt one for 100 quid. i told them forget it because i was too pissed off with that. thinking about it now, it was all my fault.

i only recently redid my cbt on thurs. 4 of my friends just bought cbt 125's so one of them helped me out in getting a cbt for 100 quid. oddly enough he bought the bikes from a different branch but the same company where i booked my cbt from before.

so yes i had to redo my cbt, but i did it about 1 year and a few months later.

All the best

1999 SRAD 600.

Wanted one since I saw them howling around in my teens.

I would definitely have another - but only as a track bike. PITA on the road, and build quality is pretty shocking IMO.

The Fizzer I have now is put together a lot nicer.

If we're talking bikes specifically mine was an NSR125 and I still own it lol.

https://w2.bikepics.com/pics/2007%5C04%5C23%5Cbikepics-873817-800.jpg

I love it too pieces and have taken it to total pieces and then rebuilt it entirely, it needs to be sold soon though Sad.

However soon as I'm working and out of uni I'm planning on finding a broken one and buying it so I can totally strip it back and re do it. It's a great little bike to work on.

First bike was a Gilera DNA 50. Was really slow and I would have rather had geared but it was still great fun. I would have another if I could afford to have another but not as a main bike or anything but I would tune the bollocks off it lol.

First 'proper' bike was a DT125. This was loads of fun even when restricted. When derestricted it was a PITA on the road as the power was only about 6000rpm and I only ever did 75 on it as that was redlining it. Would have another and try to learn how to wheelie properly although if I was spending the money I would rather have a proper SM.
