Since 'Mike' (I miss him so much) is in the garage for the umpteenth time, I've had to 'go back to basics' and rely on dreaded public transport to commute to work.

The walk to the station in heavy rain was already getting on my t1ts. Holding up my massive golf umbrella didn't work...and the short 5min walk resulted in rain drenched legs/skirt and water filled shoes Evil or Very Mad

The tube from Becontree to Barking was delayed AGAIN, much to my annoyance. *sighs*...finally it arrives and some big bloke BARGES me out the way to get on the tube first so he can grab the ONLY seat available! Evil or Very Mad I didn't care for the seat anyway as its only 2 stops! But what a nob!!

Arrive at Barking and need to change to get to Moorgate. Have to walk down the subway to get to another platform - not feeling, especially in sodding wet shoes!
Through the subway I go, only to be passed by a dark asian fellow with a big hairy caterpillar moustache. He walked past, and INHALED at me Shocked ...like literally a prolonged heavy deep SNIFF as I walked past. I turned around and looked at him in a WTF expression. He was standing there looking back at me like he was waiting for a bus. Armed with my golf umbrella, I was ready to ATTACK should he come back to get another sniff. I just turned around, still in shock and bolted!!

Got to my platform after my 'horrific' experience with the sniffer - only to be told by the attendant that my tube is SUSPENDED due to flooding!!! Its only been raining for ONE DAY if that ffs!!!!!

Anyways, I get to work going the long way - all packed like sardines throughout several tube journeys. Got elbowed in the head, foot got stepped on several times and a B.O-fied armpit shoved in my face!

I'm NOT a happy bunny today Evil or Very Mad
I need my bike back ASAP!!!!!!

Well I dont envy you! our train station here is a mobile unit and a few seats. I will ever go to this crazy place you speak of, I would end up in a mental home for sure.

See thats where having handy small 4 stroke 125 comes in. I like having more than one bike should the other ever take a heat attack then I know one will work and it always ends up being the 125 4 stroke.

get another bike? could pick one up for a few hundred. easier said I know as I dont have a few hundred for another one at the mo myself.

Seriously...i'm not even exaggerating when I say, almost everyday on the train, something happens! Its like a drama series.

You see smartly dressed business women/men doing random things that are ultra weird. They can sit on the tube/train and OPENLY pick their boogers out. Nothing wrong with picking your nose, but its frowned upon if you start wiping big snotty greenies under the seats!!

The other day...I saw a 'couple' arguing LOUDLY on the train. It was as if no one else in the world existed to them. The girl looked like a love sick puppy, all nagging the guy, asking him where he was going, who he was seeing now, why he aint returning calls etc. The guy kept pushing her away, ignoring her as best he could. He eventually lost the plot and screamed : just f00k off you c*nt!! Shocked on a packed train!!!! jeezlouise..how embarrasing!! The girl didn't stop tho and followed him off the train at the next station!

Perhaps London Transport employs actors to create entertainment for commuters.

The tube and buses at rush hour are bad. I used to hate going and coming from university because of the overcrowding on the tube. Until one day I thought fuck the tube, I'll walk.

The 5ish miles there and 5ish miles back, was quite refreshing. Got to uni feeling good (all the fresh air) and then looked forward to the nice walk back home in the evening through Central London.

My mates thought I was crazy, I don't see why, it is not that far. But then again most of them were lazy buggers! Anyway it was better than being stuck in a stinking, hot, packed tube at rush hour. Laughing

I read somewhere ages ago, a little known fact, that certain "south Asians" really do sniff instead of kiss.

My girlies were always annoyed when assorted Asian customers would spend the whole booking sniffing their necks ... they were even more grossed out when I found that little snippet of information, cos they usually hadn't charged said punters for kissing.

Laughing

On crowded pavements, yes it does matter, as you can't avoid them.

I'm really enjoying my week off, not having to use the tube. I think when I got back to work on monday I'll take the slightly longer journey where I can get the bus instead.

Last time I used the tube someone was pleasantly sick all over the floor about 8 feet away. I was lucky, others around me got splashed. I moved into the next carriage at the next stop to avoid the smell of the freshly painted floor, others just sat there as if nothing had happened, as the surprisingly large puddle of vomit inched towards their shoes.

Public transport is still marginally preferable to riding in though. With public transport I don't have to go through South Croydon, Streatham, or Brixton.

Ah good old Brixton! I was working there last Friday night, so many weirdos about.

One fella said he'll give me £60 if I run one last train for him as all trains had gone (had my hard hat/hi vis vest etc on) Laughing

One guy had drunk so much he couldn't even stand, someone helped him up and he went straight back down again so he went down the street on all fours!

Riding is the only way to do London, fuck public transport. I love riding through London, I fine a good Hoon through congestion is almost as good as a speedy run through some twisties.

I tend to NOT use those small arse fold up umbrella's. They are USELESSLY small so you get wet anyway. Plus, any form of wind and it blows inside out.
Golf umbrella's all the way Mr. Green Thumbs Up

Indeed Thumbs Up
My umbrella's a super sized golf umbrella. It's an alpha umbrella for sure with my company's logo on it. Let's the rest of the muthas know not to mess with me Twisted Evil

But seriously, have got quite a long walk to the station in an exposed area in the morning so a fold-up is useless.
I'm tall anyway and hold it high so as far as I know I haven't taken anyone out...but then again I never turn around to see the trail of devastation left on the street behind me.

Travelling in London sucks and everyone knows it and that's why we all look so miserable on the commute. But hey, we just deal with it eh Confused
