i need to change my bedroom radiator since the bleed valve has snapped (TBH the rad isn't powerful enough either)

however instead of using standard copper pipe coming upwards from the floorboards i intend to use the chrome version that you can get for doing showers etc, i presume this will be fine for use on a radiator too?

Yup.

Only difference between them is the chrome looks a wee bit better and is more expensive. (I think the chrome piping might be a wee bit harder to shape though...)

Thumbs Up

or just get some crome sleaves that go over the copper pipes and then you dont need to replace the coppers one, i did the same to a free standing bath i installed a few years ago

Crome plated pipe will be the same as copper, if all the joints are hidden just use compression fittings as you need to strip the crome plating for push fit and solder fittings to work properly.
I take it your be changing the pipe work anyway if your fitting a bigger rad.

u cant use the chrome where its joining copper as they react with each other, if u join them with a speedfit joint then its ok, but tbh i just use chrome covers when i do bathrooms, looks justas good Thumbs Up

I've not herd of chrome pipe reacting with copper before Confused the chrome pipe is normally just plated copper or sometimes brass.
I've been told to not use pushfit fittings on chrome plating as they don't grip so well on the smooth finish.

i wouldnt use em either, anything to do with heating an i solder.

had a job few years back where a copper pipe jointed to chrome pipe, maybe stainless steel, reacted and went green, hence abig leak!

stick with the chrome covers Thumbs Up
