636 B1 & save a grand.
I'd expect you can get both of the above for around £3k as well now.

The R6 is the better deal imo.

I think you get more for your money, you can pick one up for around £2,500 in mint condition. It's the quickest of the 3 & is very track focused.

The best is whichever one you fancy most. Or you feel most comfy on. Or will match your helmet the best. Which one gives you the warm fuzzy feeling?

There'll be fuck all performance difference outside of the pub (where of course that extra 1bhp or kg less listed weight really really matters).

i vote for K4.
its my ideal bike at the moment, rather that than a K7 as well.

its like the mid-age, best looking of the lot, and not stupidly small like the newer ones.

only thing is, the R6 and the K4 will have pretty much the same performance (although suzuki wont have a shit gearbox). its just what you prefer the look of.

the B1h doesnt really count, as it isnt actually a 600 Wink

Is it an actual 05? ie. USD forks? If not, go for the gixer. The 03+ R6's don't have any gearbox issues anyway Matt. Just pick which ever is the best looking.

I've just got a K4, first big bike and I love it!

I sat on pretty much every sports 600 you could find in Newcastle and found it to be the most comfortable.

Not sure how big you are but I'm 6' and about 18stone and found the Kawa B1 was just too track focused for what I wanted, great as a second bike or just a sunday thrash but if I was going to go to work on it or have the missus' on the back, it just wasn't practical.

When it came down to it I ended up just going for the most comfortable and the one I thought looked and sounded best.

I spent 4200 on an 04 GSXR 600 from a dealer (needed finance so couldn't go private for a better deal) with 6000 on the clock. Just been serviced, 12months tax and test, standard can and Viper race can, King Carbon hugger and front, renntec grab rail and both the rear seat and hump. Not a scratch on the bike.

I'm more than happy with it, after a few miles getting to know the bike (with and without pillion) I feel like I've had her for years. It looks good, rides well and I think it's very confidence inspiring.

Just thought I'd let you know my thoughts as I've just gone through the same process as you.

Get the K4, you'll love it!

yeah i rode the r6 and gsxr and for me the gsxr was the better bike sounded the nuts gear bow was silky smooth unlike the r6 and alot more comfort on my bad wrists? the only r6 plus point was its faster low speed turning as the gixxer has a steering damper, but for me the gixxer all day long but now i have to try a cbr 600rr? cheers for your help

id go with the ninja, more bang for your bike if you dont mind its flaws as a road bike, other then lukes iv not been wowed by a old r6 in a long time, i think there lovely bikes but id always want a newer model on the looks front. gsxr over the honda any day tho, the k4/k5's looks just dont seem to get out dated no mater how many new models come out. honda lacks the mid range of the gsxr, less roomy and correct me if im wrong... (honda do hold there vaule well) it will probably be hard to find as good or an example for the price

Everyone says 750s get the handling of a 6 and the speed of a thou.

But I reckon it's more like the handling of a thou and the power of a 6. Thumbs Down
