 |
|
Right, tonight i lashed a load of petrol all over my fuel tank, silly thing to do, i know.
However, it was purple, pink and got knows what else so i've decided when i get around to stripping the bike down to send the frame, swingarm and wheels off for powdercoating i'd paint the tank too.
Now, i'm taking it back to bare metal, going to fill a couple of small dents and then give it a few coats of some osrt of primer.
I then plan to do a white base coat, mask off two stripes down the center of the tank (or maybe one off side) and then spray it a gloss black with a couple of coats of this.
I then want to stencil on a couple of suzuki decals to be sprayed in white also, however obviously i'll do this before the black goes down.
I'll then seal it all with a coat of lacquer or two.
My question is this, i want to use nothing but rattle cans so which paints should i be looking at and do i need anything special to use as primer on the bare metal?
Oh and does my painting idea sound ok in theory?
Many thanks! ____________________ Current Bike: 1996 Yamaha TRX850 (The Japanese-Ducati One).

It came like that
It was fixed with a few layers of fibreglass and weve, then sanded, then filler, then more sanding and filler
t's now completely sealed, strong, and invisible |
