Installed a bran new system 3 alarm l purchased off eBay on my R100GS a few days ago with no problems but now it seems like l,ve got a dead mainboard (immobilization circuit will not disarm and the alarm LED is showing constantly red), i,ve linked out these two circuits on the connector going to the board for now (piss easy to disable ) but will l be able to send the board off under warranty for repair/replacement even though l fitted it myself? ____________________ Past:NRG50,AF1125(x2),NSR125RR,ZZR250,CX500,VFR400,KR1S,ZZR600(x2),CB400N,YZF1000(x2),KH125,Z200,FX400R,CBR954RR(x2)GPZ500S,GT550,VFR750F(x2),RD350N,XR650R,CBR600F,CB250,KDX250,YZF750R,CRM250,400EXC,KLR650,TTR600RE,DR350S,R100GSPD,RGV250,VMAX1200,DL650,KZ750 Present:G650XC,C12,CRF450X,1190ADV |

I have the Data Tool S3 on my Hornet atm... Its buggered tbh.
I was told (not sure if its true) that there is a level inside that is full of liquid. If the bike is stood for a long time not moved, the liquid dries and the level can be moved with the slightest touch (thats why they become very sensitive)
I'm getting my PC board removed and exchanged next month under extended warranty, I can give you the number for the person who does it (lives in Peterborough) but it will cost as its not under warranty...
Note: I have the S4 red on the Fireblade - Its so much better and a lot easier to use - recomended for anyone ____________________ Current Bikes: 1990 RXS100, 1988 RXS100, 2002 NRG MC3, 1988 JOG CG50E

Just to update you on my situation...
I had my Hornets PC board replaced, she works a dream now...
I thought the Datatool S3 was sh*te at first, but she seems to be really good now.
Its a shame you guys had problems... ____________________ Current Bikes: 1990 RXS100, 1988 RXS100, 2002 NRG MC3, 1988 JOG CG50E

Because in my opinion you get far far less people asking for help with a Meta alarm that you do with a Datatool.
If you do a search on this forum for 'Datatool AND problem' you are greeted with two pages of results where as searching for 'Meta AND problem' only gives you one page of results.
From a personal point of view I myself have a Meta cat 1 system on my R6 which has been faultless in the five years it has been fitted. In fact out of all of the people I know who have alarms/immobilisers on their bikes they pretty much all have Meta systems rather Datatool's and I can't think of any of them who have had problems with the Meta's. ____________________ Yamaha YZF-R6 |

Never had any problems whatsoever with my Datatool in the last 8 years, most the problems in the search results involve buying off fleabay and installing themselves. That's why they should have someone with common sense and experience do it as all the wires are black. ____________________ Andy Sez....
