Right, i have fitted new bearings and have bought a new crank

the parts are BOTH Correct and are the same as the old ones.

The Crank Just WONT GO IN!!! it slides in untill it gets to about 10mm from the webbing to the case.

i have been hitting it with a big hammer and it wont budge... iv had it in the oven cooking away with no differnce!!

Is there a Special way to fit them and im doing it wrong??? or is it just tight with them both being new.

How do i get it in!!

Don't put the crank in the oven it will expand and deffo not fit in the bearing, try some two stroke oil on the crank and as you try fitting it jiggle it a bit as you push down, the bearing is a tightish fit on the crank but should fit without too much effort, changes are you didn't have the crank dead in line with the bearing so it would not drop into place properly.

If your still having trouble then try lowering the case onto the crank and using a tube tap the cetre of the bearing onto the crank, make sure the threads are well protected as they can be easily damaged rendering your new carank useless.

as above but be warned.

check the crank spins freely because it is very easy to put sideways strain on the bearings rendering them useless in no time.
the last ones i did on a KX80 were a right pig to get right.
if in doubt, take it somewhere like an MX workshop/ decent bike shop as they will be used to it.

Put it in a air tight bag in the freezer for about a day or two. Heating the crank will make it bigger you plonk. Freezing it will make it smaller. This is what all the ped tuners do anyway. Thumbs Up

Also heat where your fitting the crank,as this will make it bigger, but be careful to not damage anything.
