Does anyone know of any good site to get eBooks for free?
I know about https://www.gutenberg.org/ and have found a few on Google but they seem fairly shite. Can anyone recommend some to me?

I usually grab collections from torrent sites, get some bad characters and miss-scans but they're usually eminently readable (I keep a few dozen book on my phone for those moments when I need occupying).

I can recommend THIS ONE as a good basis to start an ebook library if you're a bit of a nerd Shifty

If you make use of usenet/newsgroups and find a decent indexing site (like newzbin, although the 'books' are closed on this now) then you will find literally hundreds of thousands on virtually any topic you can think of, I have about 40gb stored of various material so im never short of a good read Thumbs Up

Anyone using an electronic reader (Sony/Cybook/Iliad)?

I reckon I'm going to buy the Cybook one but would welcome comments from anyone who uses one.

Not recently, used one of the early Sony readers and hated the thing. Felt flimsy, fairly unresponsive to use and broke regularly. I just use my phone screen now, not as much hassle as you'd think and has never given me a headache (using a W960i).

I'm a bit of a traditionalist though, the ebooks are just for filling time. If I'm reading for pleasure then I would far rather have a book in my hands, something about the smell of a fresh book and the crisp feeling of new pages under your fingertips. I should probably go away now Whistle

I've used my iPaq before but the e-ink screens are supposedly much better and they're readable in sunllight.

I'll not stop reading real books but its handy to be able to keep a selection with you at work or on hols.

I have that in paperback and have read it a few times. It's very good and certainly deserves a place in my digital library as well Smile

Any chance you could bring it along to minimoto if you've got space? Like the idea of them, but still haven't worked out if I can justify buying one, when I could get an EEE or similar for the money.
