There's a useful forum on www.vx800.net - a few experts on the model there.
I used to have one, nice bikes.
Air filters - there are two, and they're quite expensive and small, so need changing or cleaning quite often, and often don't get replaced because of the cost. So sort them out first.
Some people fiddle with the mixture screws, that only effects the mix at tickover really though. The tickover mix is set quite lean as standard, which can lead to a rather weak tickover, so there is a chance that someone has fiddled with yours before.
Change the plugs too. |

I put in new plugs , it worked ! before I switched plugs and one was dead, so that was the problem.
no i can't adjust back carb mixture,front one works fine when I unplug rear ,but rear one I have to set up to ran higher but then I plug in front one and rpm go over 2000. any
sugestions?
and could you explain what does tickover mean?

If one exhaust is getting blue'd and runs hotter than the other then I would expect to find that it is running lean. If it isn't getting any worse then I wouldn't worry about it too much unless it starts to glow red!  ____________________ Current bike: VTR1000F Firestorm.
