Doubtful. It would have enough power just from the alternator to run normally. Try it with the lights off, see if it makes a difference.

Nothing to do with the spark plug, the engines not turning over.

I'd get some jump leads and see if it works then.

That sounds almost like the starter motor is trying to rotate but can't, like something is jamming it ... engine seized?

When you say you had an accident with oil, did you run out of oil or have the oil pressure light come on?

Checked the battery? Charge it and try it then, if it starts and runs ok your battery or charging system is the problem.

after a rebuild on my nsr once i forgot to re-attach the oil pipe to the carb and when it seized it made that exact noise when trying to start on the button, when i bumped it, it wouldn't go over 3.5-4k revs and cut out not long after.

i inspected the top end and found deep scores in the front edge of the barrel and had to buy another brand new one to replace the brand new one i had just fitted lol, nearly £350 all in all for that rebuild.

so i am afraid you have more than likely seized it like i did but luckily your pistons not welded itself in yet so dont keep trying to run it and as said get the head off and have a gander.

If you ran out of oil it's probably seized. Not what you want to hear but unfortunately it's true.

No point keeping on trying to start it, you'll just cause more damage.

Take the topend off and have a look. If you're lucky it may just be the rings.

I charged my battery all night last night.Put it in when i got home and it started perfect.Took it for a spin and about 5 mins into riding when into 3rd gear and i cut out again.

My mate went and bought an r6 and he said the same thing happened to his rs.said i should put oil down a barrel because the piston might be sticking or something like that.

I was thinking about getting a pro to have a look.

READ YOUR REPLIES!

In your post most people have said you may have seized it as this is what usually happens when you run it without oil! Check this first Brick Wall

Would have helped if we were told in the first post that it had run out of engine oil as well.
