 Posted: 17:47 - 30 Oct 2008 Post subject: Carb Float Question! |
 |
|
Hi All, i'm new to the forum... I have been working on someones nsr125 and its been flooding its self. so on doing a carb clean and to see what the problem is i have noticed that one of the floats out the pair has some sort of liquid in it and the other hasn't, its about half full within the float. i have done carb cleans for other bikes and have never seen one with liquid in one of the floats. should this be normal for this carb as i can't see how they have filled up (no holes or leaks)..
Oh the bike is a 2000 model nsr 125..
Cheers for any help |

Should not be any liquid in there at all, this would cause the carb to flood.
Its defiantely leaking somewhere you just need to find and seal it, after getting all the fluid out. Forcing the float down into a bowl of water can sometimes give a good idea of where the leak is.
Easiest way is to fit a new float. ____________________ https://www.metacafe.com/watch/1972097/how_to_behave_on_a_forum/ |

hi,
i presume you mean the small pin that holds the float assembly in place?
small needle nose pliers,
little pin/ bar just pulls out to the side.
watch not lose the float piston!
cheers,

I think he means the needle [/quote]
hi,
yes, , i mean a " float needle valve". the little pointy thing that attaches to the floats (usually tipped with, is it vitron or something?) & moves up & down (like a piston?) & shuts off the fuel supply.
lose it & its 15 quid for a replacement!
cheers,
