New Leathers (got a bit carried away)

Been thinking of investing in some sports leathers the last few weeks. I liked the look of the alpinestars ones. So I popped down to Hein Gericke at lunch time just now and had a look just to dream about all the nice things I can't afford. Then the sales man came up and gave me his pitch and got me signed up as a store member and told me I can pay up everything over a year, interest free. Well he had me sold right there! Here's what leathers I got.

Also ended up getting the alpinestars back protector and matching knee sliders. Total came to £850.

Oh well, the way I see it, I was planning on buying this throughout the year anyway.

Only joking mate, my leathers are red\white\black - I liked them and looked good on the NSR - but new bike is silver, so maybe I'll have to invest over the summer..........

But then again, they're only there to protect you really.

Nice leathers mate, but as Mr C said you would have been better of with custom ones. I bought my Alpinestars 2pce leathers for £600 (they are red/white/black power ranger ones) and I paid £150 for my Sidi's, that was an expensive day.

Are they one piece or 2?

I have a blue 2 piece alpinestars which have done great, but would like to change due to the colour of the new bike

The other thing I was wondering was is it acceptable to wear it to a track day? I heard something about only being able to wear a one piece to track days. The suit does zip all the way round in the middle, does that make it ok?

I really wish I consulted you guys before I went and bought this now. Didn't think you'd want to hear another 'what leathers should I buy?' post though.

Don't worry too much. I did exactly the same thing. Got some Dianese two piece leathers coming out at around £600 in the end. Were the best fit I could find at the time, but would have gone for custom made if I'd known about their relative price.
They didn't crash too well either, the material with the zip holding the two pieces together wore through as I roled along the road. They did do their job however and I ended with an aching knee rather than a broken one and no gravel rash.

Two piece are fine on track days providing they do zip together all the way around. For club racing etc you need one piece however.

Sweet mate. They are similar to the ones I was looking at I think though I think they were a 1 piece. Silver and black are the best colours IMO
