 |
|
Hi, Got a bit of a problem with my piaggio Zip field bike, I haven't bothered to run it for a few months, so today I cleaned the plug, stuck fresh fuel in, ect, then tried to start it, no luck. Right, So I checked for a spark: Yep, nice strong blue spark, but the spark plugs dry?
So I grab a can of easy start, spray in to the inlet, and it fires up, runs for a moment, then cuts out. So it appears the problem lies with the fuel side of things, I cleaned the carb, and tried again, but still to no avail.
What do you think? why isn't fuel getting to the spark plug ?
Thanks for taking the time to read this, Jamie. |

Hi Jamie.
I had the same problem and it turned out the fuel tap was turned off.
Is there a vacuum hose going to the tap that might be off or broke.

Hi, I thought this, so took a bit of fuel line, and an old tank and had it sat next to the bike "remotely", so that I could rule out fuel filters, and the fuel tap, the float bowl is filling nicely, and I also checked that the flow hight is right with a clear bit of piping (got to love carbs that have a drain screw and pipe attachment)
There is no Fuel pump Keith , no.
Thanks, Jamie. |

Hi,
Take your carb off and make sure your reeds are all okay. Not bent or splitt.
They could be deciding not to let fuel into your engine. ____________________ Were all born individual . . Don't die a copy
