lubricant oils and additives?

Hi,

Sorry if this seems random but I reckon its pretty related.

Anyway, I'm starting to look for a 12 month placement as I'm not in my third year of a Chemical Engineering degree.

I have an interview with a lubricant additives and special lubricant additives for 2 and 4 stoke engines company and is a job that I think i would really enjoy.

So was just wondering if anyone knows any good websites so i can read up on the subject a little as im the only one going for the interview at my uni that has a interest in engines (in my opinion) so feel I should use it to my advantage.

Get down the library at uni? They must have tons of books on the subject if they specialise in engines. Get a few out and make good use of the weekend Sure most of the books will be from 1974, but the principles will be the same.

Learn the fundamentals to get a basic understanding. Then look on t'internet for the latest technologies and learn a bit about a couple of them. Shows you are on the ball with the latest developments.

This method has served me well throughout my blagging career.

Andy, is that with Lubrizol by any chance? My housemate worked with them last year, i can speak to him about it for you if you want, particularly the interviews. We do Materials engineering with automotive engineering so he essentially was asked about the main requirements of engine lubrication as part of his technical questions; they wanted a judge of character more than anything else.

Check out what Lubrizol do if you haven't applied to them yet; my mate was working on a whole load of engines, from honda CBR900's to marine diesels, formulating additives for the oils.

If it is lubrizol its a fantastic place to work. I built car engines there for a year.
Got to ride their test bikes too, hornet 600's cbr 600's and NSR's!

Nah, my mate cycled to work - was lift sharing - He's got a Mk2 Golf GTI in green and looks a bit like Toadfish from neighbours, i.e. he's chubby and has a beard and a very laid back personality ... this was from 2007-2008.
