i dont think it got rejetted. but the 70 kit got ruined because of the oil. its still a mystery to me how the oil got in because i put green oil in and there was a very thin yellowy oil in there. which was sadly the cause . u think rejetting the carbs might help? |

green oil ?
it was two stroke right
the varaitor stops the ped from getting into its highest gear so yes top speed will be limited with it on , buy a impact driver/ air gun and its a ten minuite job
what 70 kit ? is it scored ? did you upjet ? how much by ? if you didnt then
step away from your spanners till you understand a 2 stroke engine |

nope it was yellow. and yes it was 2 stroke oil definiatly. it was a malosi 70 kit and it was compeltly scored wen they took it off. i dont do the stuff my self the garage does. my dad told me they have been doing it for over 10 years which is why i went to them. i trust they have knowledge. just not enough in peds because they specialise in racing bikes. i dont no enough about peds to do it myself. altho all the things ive tryed with mine im startin to understnad :p lol.
im not sure about the upjetting but i will definatly ask them. what impact driver or air gun should i buy? any recommendations? what will the speed be after? given im doin 52 on a 70 kit.
i took the 70 kit off because my engine just competly cut out on me and wouldnt start.. the 70 kit was ruined
thanks ! |

see i know nothing about peds, i just realised ive asked u to give me a good make of a impact driver. which is infact not a moped part. its a tool -.- lol my fault when i took it in. the first thing they did was something wit the variator. i dont remember exactly but thye told me they pushed it right to the top? |

lol i had a steep learnin cruve with my first engine too
first of all if the grage didnt upjet your carb when they fitted the carb then they owe you a new kit , its obvious to even someone with a small bit of engine knowledge that it would run lean and blow it , if you tell them this any mechanics normall response would be "well you obviously didnt run it in and ragged it" dont take this they owe you a new kit end of
fit some 5.0 gram rollers in the variator and upjet by 5% ( will be about 3 sizes on a tiny carb) www.beedspeed.com will sort you out with these parts and there dead easy to fit

yup and thats all high flow air filters do , they waste petrol and provide barely any bhp gains unless its a very highly tuned engine , did your mate upjet otherwise his engine will blow too
5g is only a rough ball park figure , with the 70 kit fitted it will be more like 4.5 youll need , your best bet is to buy a box of various roller weights of www.scooter-attack.com or https://www.adrenalin-pedstop.co.uk/ and just experiment till the best acceleration and topspeed is found , light rollers will cause overrevving and heavy rollers cause underreving and acceleration will be poor
it might also be worth getting a 17.5 carb as the 12mm stock one is pretty much a restriction in its self |

Take it you've done rollers and springs? To be honest the speed you mentioned is as much your going to get with a basic 70. Want more topend, get a gear up. Bigger carb wouldnt go a miss either. |

gear-up just a new set of gears designed for a higher top speed , it would be a waste of money on that set up though so forget about it , you can reach roughly 65mph on the standard gearing
yeah 4gs is probably too light for a pretty much stock setup
17.5 carb shouldnt cost much, there standard on gilera rnners and aprilia sr's past 05 probly about 15-20 quid , plus a tenner for a box of jets
rebore and a new piston for the malossi sport kit should cost around 50 quid and rollersa are about a tenner , clutch springs will cost about a fiver and will help acceleration loads and itl love the back wheel
dont have a clue how much a garage will charge to fix it , ive never been to one in my life , amateur mechanics for the win ! |
