ok so woke up this morning all prepared for my practical A2 test at 10.14!

On my way to the test centre driving extra careful and keeping to all the speed limits, all the mirror/shoulder checks etc in preparation!

Bloody hell were the roads icy!! lost my back tyre within the first mile then recovered carried on but even slower and occasionally using the feet as stabilisers Laughing

Next thing i know i've lost it again, this time it all happened to quick and there was no chance of recovery so me and the cg go sliding into a ditch!

I jumped up quickly as there was a car following a little way behind me who gave me a funny look and just drove on! Bastard!

Pulled the bike out of the ditch and checked it over hoping it would start and i could do the test anyway but both right indicators smashed, mirror smashed and bent, big scratches down the side, all sorts of shrubbery tucked in the fairing bits. Even managed to bend the footrest bit.

Few more cars went past including a BMW convertible who thought it would be funny to give me the finger, beep a bit and speed off. Laughing

Reults: Broken Wrist, fucked bike, little shaken up after losing my bike falling off virginity Shocked probably lost the test fee too!

Awwwwwwwww, unlucky man. Don't let it put you off. Use it as your determination to pass next time you book it Razz.

Hope your wrist gets better and you're on the road again soon.

Yeah, sorry about that, just couldn't resist! Laughing

Seriously though, unlucky dude. Just goes to show you need to pay more attention to the climatic conditions. Might sound shit now, but I'm sure you've learnt a valuable lesson.

Get it fixed and re-booked.

Good luck next time! Thumbs Up

Sorry to hear you had such a bad day of it, Samj6.

But it could have been so much worse. You could have been
laid out unconscious and that guy in the BM could have been
Michael Barrymore who came upon you. Then you'd have had
more than a fvcked-up wrist to worry about. Laughing

GWS Samj6. Thumbs Up

That wrist recovering will give you time to let your poor little CG to recover Sad

Sorry to hear it, I very nearly did the same in the middle of my A2, guess some are just luckier than others.

If not, they're a bunch of c....

That's a proper dose of bad luck, especially seeing as you've broken your wrist too. Sad What did you do, smash a mirror or something? Razz

Good luck getting it all sorted dude.

A and E say they can't tell if it's broken due to growth plates fusing or something but i've broken bones before and i'm pretty sure it's bloody broken and the X-ray looks quite clear to me but their the experts Rolling Eyes so no doctors note means no refund! Crying or Very sad

Just for reference. If it wasn't for the injured wrist, you could have removed the broken flashers and done the test on hand signals.

give the DSA a ring and explain the situation to them

You have hospital records and a very valid reason for not making the test

The worst they can say is no

Chances are you arent safe to ride with your wrist how it is now, so broken or not you couldnt make the test.
Cant hurt to ask. Smile

Unless you already have.

Damn. If the roads where icy I would of thought that they would phone you and cancel the test. They would do that for the car practical.
