My apologies for keep banging on about textiles....but i've found this for £70 plus fee p+p, and wondered if anyone knew if they, or Weise in general, are worth the money?

This here be am jacket;

The Weise jacket I have is 14 years old.
Bit tatty now but still reasonably waterproof, not great for warmth tho.

I've got a Weise Xblade 2 jacket and Dynastar 2 trousers. They seem very durable, armour in the right places, well made. In terms of waterproofing I doubt I'd trust them in a torrential downpour for too long, so I carry an oversuit with me for when its really booting it down, but for showers and getting caught out while riding they are fine.

The trousers are a bit on the tight side, so can be a bit restrictive if you have high pegs. Good knee and hip armour though and both jacket and trousers feel well made enough to reassure me they'll do the job should I fall off in them. With the winter linings in they are fairly warm I'd say.

I have a Weise leather jacket and race jeans, both are excellent in my opinion and held up well in a low speed off a couple of years ago, yet still my only gear. I'd happily buy again..... Thumbs Up

Can't really speak for the textiles though....

I was looking at getting the Lynx jacket from SBS but then they dropped the price of the Voyager jacket from £130 to £85 - I thought that the Voyager looked even cooler so got one!

The jacket is great - adjustable in all the right places, armour in all the right places (including back - one of the reasons I went for Weise). I've coupled it with a pair of Weise leather race jeans too, since they were also dropped in price!

So I would say Weise are definitely worth going for. Their new Twister jackets look pretty cool too, if your budget stretched to £100.

I have a Weise textile, bit longer in body length than the one you are looking at. Although I wear my Weise Leather Jacket mostly and carry a Weise Waterproof top just incase for long journeys and when I know it is going to be tipping it I use thd textile. Warm, comfy, good armour and waterproof. I like Weise stuff, I have some gloves too.

Weise Xblade 2 jacket is also my wet choice, keeps me snug, warm and dry. Armour not too bad also.

If you want a decent textile jacket on a budget, try the RST base from busters/m&p, £40, absolute bargain. Really warm and nice fitting, only need a t shirt underneath. Knox armour. Only downside is no removable lining but for £40 you can afford to only use it 3 months of the yr. Thumbs Up

I've got an xblade 2, had it for about three years and had three offs with it with no problems. Used it in all weathers and it only just lost its waterproofing at start of summer. I used some nikwax and its as good as new again. I really like it, just it doesn't fit me so well now.

Brilliant...thanks for the input everyone, much appreciated! Thumbs Up

Decided to go for it, should be here in a couple of days. Looked at the others you've suggested, but i still prefer the Lynx. Partly for the price, and partly because of those three patches on the back...i like them.

Can hardly wait to ride the bike while being warm and looking cool... Cool

Cheers! Thumbs Up
