A tub of cheese 'n' chive dip once rolled out of the bag when I had the shopping in the boot of the car. I never noticed it was missing and had no reason to open the boot for about 2 weeks. In summer.

That little ring of plastic they put round the lid is bloody strong, thing had swollen up like a football. The smell when I chucked it was Sick Sick Sick

I don't recall having any mishaps of this kind. This weekend I accidentally shredded some bungee straps though. I tied my tailpack on and, having only used them on sports bikes before, didn't realise that the suspension might actually be soft enough for the wheel not to clear the rear mudguard when I sat on it. Ended up riding 40 miles with the tailpack sitting loose on the back seat and it didn't budge an inch. Testament to my smooth riding Laughing.

A couple of cans of IPA... that I'd packed 'carefully' in my top box by placing padding in the form of my pillow around them. They exploded on my way there.

Mmmm beer pillow for a whole weekend of camping. Yum.

I had a full bottle of Jean Paul Gaultier aftershave open itself in a bag strapped to the back of the bike. Worst part was that it was 2 days into a journey to Barcelona, and was placed on top of all the clothes I had with me!

Needless to say I was quite erm .... 'overpowering' for the rest of the trip. Sick

The classic 1 was the case of the guy who claimed for a new pannier after it exploded while on a touring holiday with his wife.
turns out she`d put her gas fill hair straighteners in the bottom of the pannier, and the pannier was above the bikes exhaust. the heat caused the gas fill hair straighteners in the pannier to overheat and explode

I have once had a can of Stella explode in a car when I braked sharply and it rolled under the seat and sustained a puncture.

It was hissing away for 2 minutes spraying beer everywhere, the worse thing is I couldn't find it Laughing

That car was never the same again.
