 |
|
Right first off it seems strange me asking this due to working in a motorbike shop.
I see many locks, all grades, all prices.
At the moment the area I live is fairly rough but the bike it hidden with a disk lock only.
A move has come up to a bigger place but the area is seriously dodgy.
I dont want to move but its for the best ect ect.
Now, which locks would you recommend. There is no secure parking there, there are a few cams which means bugger all, and a security guard in the building (yes thats how rough) I believe that outside the main doors there are places for bikes - seen a few peds.
Im really quiet worried on the bikes secureness.
Which locks have saved your bike, if any.
No chance for ground anchors as its council

Not the best image or 'garage' for that matter, damn you google!
If you have a car parking space then this should fit more than easy enough. Its lockable and secure and will stop prying eyes. Not sure if it may take a ground anchor too?
Move, then move the lock up with you.
It does cost a fair few £ though. |

I have read reviews that Amex are one of the best chains to lock the bike with.
Im a worrier and just the thought of my pride and joy being nicked haunts me.
It happends everyday. I hear endless stories at work about peoples bikes being nicked and binned up the road.
Its pretty close to work that, when I drop my son off to school I only need walk 500 yards to work so there is no point in me going back to collect it.
It would be a weekend bike for now but obviously covered up.
I just know if someone wants a bike they will do anything to get it.
WIll try the water butt idea, if they say anything it just takes up a few more more feet from the bike and with what ive seen im sure a few peds that are there wouldnt mind having joined chains to the butt.
Very good idea

£100+
Well, since I changed indis, my Meta alarm is fubard.
Maybe now that I might be moving its a kick up the arse to get it fixed.
Almax are £100+ but Abus for the short chain is £259.99 and it looks like shit - I dont know how we would even try to sell that its unreal.
Thanks for all the replys tho people.

Another vote for almax here, i bought a series iv 19mm thick one and i cant really see anyone bolt cropping it atall. in fact its a bloody effort to lock the bloody thing its that heavy Its so heavy you cant really take it with you without noticing it on the back of our bike. But it makes me sleep easy. ____________________ Cbr1100xx blackbird gone, mk4 golf gt tdi chav now

Another vote for the Almax here, if it's purely for use to lock the bike up at home, get the series 4 chain with the squire lock, just don't expect to be able to carry it on the bike easily as it's far too heavy. I've got the series 3 and it's much more manageable for day to day stuff, stick it in a little tailpack (The base kriega model is a perfect fit) and your set.
You probably already have one, but on the off chance you don't... Cover it too, doesn't matter if it's already parked under shelter or in an underground car park. It's not going to make a blind bit of difference to a proper thief, but it helps deter impulsive opportunists and drunks from having a go ____________________ 2010 Triumph 1050 Sprint ST |

datatool alarm stops kids trying anything as soon as they hear the alarm.
almax are good quality chains with the square locks. they may be able to do you a deal by phone. very nice couple from newcastle. i spoke to them and i think they are going to america soon to expand. the guy spoke to me for 1 hour lol
i would recommend it. they have anchors aswell. ____________________ Hit the G spot. |
