This is the Official 2009 BCF Spill Counter

Beware of cheap Chinese imitations. Blimey, because I was too busy having fun last night some jumped up little ped boi decides he will do a Spill Counter.

Here are the previous year's counters

2005

2006

Looks like there was 129 in 2007

2008 had 119 so a slight drop.

Follow a similar format to last year - but add a date of the crash as well e.g.

1 1/1/09

2 2/1/09 etc

That's the traditional opening funny one out of the way Very Happy

Funny in the loosest sense of the word (cue Mum joke).

So who will have the ignoble honour (does that make any sense?) of being the true No. 1 on the list?

Bearing in mind I'm riding Sunday and seeing as I came off three times last ride I could well be eligible to make an entry, maybe I will make it to the number one spot...?

I dunno, I just got given a Chinese crosser, I'm pretty sure I could abuse that until it killed me in a morning Laughing

Not sure if its classed as a low side or what. Was coming round an S-bend in Gillingham. It was near the high street, so the ground wasn't concrete, It was like, "High-street bricks", You know the shiny shit.

8am this morning too, so icy as f*ck. Was doing no more than 10mph.

Rear wheel stepped out on the left hand part of the bend, And the bike just laid down, and 180'd on me.

Damage - None. Mr. Green
Well, I scuffed my crash bobbin (*cough* Skateboard wheel *cough*)

Damage to me - Bruised arse.

You gotta love the fecking snow, riding on my winter hack this morning (thank god I bought this bike) down my road which was covered in snow/ice, I was in 2nd got to the end to turn left and boom the front went from under me, magically I managed to land on my feet, so no injuries.

Damage to bike, bent clutch lever and scratched engine casing. Oh well, bit of paint and I managed to bend the lever back there and then.

Turning left in to a small single track road, slowed to 10mph, went to make the turn and lost the front end on black ice, slid down the road about 5meters, no damage to me or the bike thankfully, shit me up a bit for the rest of the morning though.

Another one for the ice. I was coming up to a junction on the way to college at around 5mph. I had to brake (small road going on to large road), the front end went to the right and then to the left so I hit the deck with the righthand side of the bike. I was rather embarrased, but a nice car driver helped me pick the bike up and wheel it to safety.

I couldn't believe no one on the main road would stop to let me out (even though I was making a queue behind me).

Damage done: mirror snapped off (I've snapped it off before). Fixed it at college - simple job of bolting pieces back together.

Rear brake pedal bent - fixed that too with the ring end of a spanner.

I'm ok apart from feeling like someone's kicked me in the shin

Thought I'd be first!

Number 6: 05/01/09 8:20am

Ice again, pulled into the car park at college to find the whole thing covered in white, and there's a rather steep ramp into the bike bit, gotta do a right left to get a straight line up the ramp, thought jesus, better go slow. Turned right, turned back left and ped slipped out under me, cue lying on the floor with engine revving Embarassed

Nobody really saw thankfully, picked it up, aimed it straight and went slow!

The lady spreading salt was only 100m away aswell! Pisstake. Luckily I don't have to get to college til 10:40 tomorrow, so pleased after I just read about the temperature dropping tonight Very Happy

-EDIT-
No damage to bike, dropped it on the same side as last time.
Damage to me- super embarrassment + deflated ego!

I was about to say, off to a flying start....

7 in one day?!

Hopefully it should calm down as it gets warmer and stickier over a month or so?

Still, 5 spills in just 1 hour and 17 minutes is pretty remarkable. Look out for snowflakes.

Down to the bottom of my road, which naturally the council forgot to grit, only to find the cars leaving before me had compacted that lovely fluffy white blanket of snow and kittens into a rock hard sheet of ice cold fail.

Lost the back, then the front, under 10mph, laid it down on the left side and slid a bit. Snapped of my left footpeg hanger so the bike is laid up until the replacement arrives (£90 for a flimsy bit of cast aluminium! Triumph parts prices are a joke). No other damage besides scuffed crash bobbins and a sore knee.

A nice gouge in the road from my peg there.

https://img353.imageshack.us/img353/4596/photo0001vg6.jpg

Look at all that snowfail.

Came out of work, pulled throttle on gently. Tyre spun up.
Pulled it on to do another couple of little burnouts to get some heat into it. Third time it grips a bit.
Filter to front of traffic at roundabout; pull out gently and it dumps me on floor as soon as I start to turn.
Even got lightly skinned knees, just for Ariel1930! (Was wearing Hood jeans, presumably worse if I wasn't.)
Couldn't have been going that fast, but it still managed to decently wear through my armoured engine protector too Sad.

Guy pulled out on me at a junction. I pulled towards the curb while braking to avoid him. Front wheel locked and slid under me, bucking me off down the road. Luckily was under the 30mph limit, so only got a bruised hip.

The bike is a bit fucked. The front forks are twisted, The whole right side is scuffed. Getting onto my insurance company now to claim the damage off his insurance. He inadvertently incriminated himself by saying he thought he had enough room, pulled out and then saw me sliding down the side of him. The scratches on the road were fairly conclusive too showing where I braked and decked it. I think he was also cautioned for driving without due care and attention.

Not really a proper crash, just a bit of a spill... pretty close to home, bike slid from underneath me on a sharp bend on really slippery ice.
Soooo slippery in fact, that my friend who was following in her car could barely walk on the road to pick up my donkey debris.

Mega-bruised and scraped hip (textile jacket rode up, trousers went down), several random bits snapped off donkey and a fair amount of pride damaged.

Took aaages to push the damn thing home on the ice up the hill.
