What documents do I need to take to the practical test?
You will need to take both your photo card licence and paper counterpart to the test centre.
If you have an old-style paper licence, from 1 November 2005, you will also need to take a valid passport.
If applicable, it is also advisable to take the following to the test centre:
* your theory test certificate
* your CBT certificate
If you do not have the correct documents you will not be allowed to take the test.
https://www.dsa.gov.uk/FAQ.asp?id=12760&cat=31
That mentions CBT but will be the same for a car test I imagine. No idea how long to get a new licence though. They mention allowing up to 3 weeks for a licence to arrive. ____________________ carbon bling |

Yh like strag said you need your photo card license and paper counterpart, your theory pass sheet. and that should be it. and no i dont think you will be able to get the photo card by then. Ring up the test center and rebook it for a later date. by the way your tests on the same day as mine.

My license and NI card stays with in my wallet, and my wallet goes with me when ever i go out of the house (unless i'm just going to the garage/garden obviously)
I don't really need my NI card but i just keep it in there so it doesn't get misplaced. And for some people like me, the license is needed on a day to day basis. I even still get ID'd to buy fags sometimes, although most of the shops in my area know who i am and know i am old enough to buy them.
But you never know when you will need it, especially if you are driving/riding. May even need it in a bank as ID and you might have to go to the bank unexpected. I don't know anyone that doesn't carry their license with them (Apart from chives on here, but he is a weirdo from lancashire ). ____________________ It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt, then it's bloody hilarious!!! |
