been looking to buy a classic bike for a while now !.Bloody expensive RDs /Fizzys /old 60sand early 70s hondas ,way out of my price range ,unless a total basket case.
Iv started looking a future bikes what may become classics in years to come.
Id like to hear what you think will become a classic Question

Seriously a 98 R1.(Got to be standard an in Red or White though, both colours are rarer than the Blue)

The first R1's are starting to rise in price already.

Aprilia RS250.

Wouldn't be surprised if the 999 become one too.

RS250 was what I thought too... they were the last point in the evolution (ignoring the VDue) of the road sports 2 stroke.

13 secs isn't so bad for a bike that will carry on after that 1/4 mile and go past inters-groups riders on litre bikes at Cadwell with a not that amazingly skilled rider on board Smile

Think to be a future classic it needs to be something that it needs to be something that brought along something new and also something that was lusted after. Also possibly the last stand.

Would say the Ducati 851 (already going up), far more so than the 916 series.

Early Ducati 900 Monster.

Aprilia Mille (first big Aprilia).

'98 R1.

Original Fireblade.

Hayabusa.

Harley V Rod.

While plenty of others will likely become regarded as classics eventually, suspect these will be the ones that will long term be held in the highest regard.

Just thought of another future classic, but in reality there are loads of potential future classics around that could start to rise in price soon. How about the Honda SP2 especially in Edwards WSB colours? I have hardly ever seen one on the road, and they are pretty rare being a bike that was built in fairly small numbers for a 1litre V2 sportsbike.

I'd love one as a sunday tool as well! Laughing
