Yeah I know the RAC has a 'Fair use policy', similar to when you get a mobile tariff with 'unlimited texts' but it really means a thousand or something
My car insurance wanted about £70 extra and the bike lot wanted even more I think. Ive been with the RAC for a couple of years, when I phoned the AA they wouldnt let me in because my BMW was 10 years old. The RAC werent bothered at the time but Im covered for both automatically, just knowing I can get the bike home if it gives up (its a suzuki ) is good peace of mind!
I know in the larger places its sometimes possible to get the bike specific patrols but up here I'd probably just get the local recovery people who don't give a shit.
Anyone got any experience of RAC and bikes? I dont even know what I pay, I think its about £9 a month or something. Should probably check my statement I bet its nearer £30 now I've said that! ____________________ RS125 > CBR6 > SV650S > ZX636R > GSX1300RZ Hayabusa > 06 RSVR Mille > SV1000S > Street Triple 765 RS |

Been with the RAC and AA alternating for a good 6 years now, its much the same tbh, the AA are probably slightly better in my judgement.
GSXRMick up there is right though, you ring them up tell them you engine is seized and it WONT be fixable by the side of the road and please send a trailer, but then they send someone who knows nothing about bikes nor has the capacity to transport one, who then goes away and at some point someone appears to take the bike away.
I think its all just to check your membership card.
Also for me AA/RAC brakedown cover was never more than what 40 quid?, you get about 6 callouts... ____________________ [Current Bikes - GSXR-750 K5 & C90-97 ] [Previous Bikes: Runner 125, YBR 125, GS500, Bandit 600, Hornet 600, ZX6R-99, C90-99, R1-99, XT600E-04, GSXR-750 K4, CRF250L '16] |

hmmm £36 vs £60 or whatever, know who's getting my money.
ok if you don't have a credit card fair play, but when was the last time you needed recovering?
i've yet to need it on the bike or the car, so Autoaid is better for me personally.
seriously read this
