Just a silly one. Just wondered how your folks reacted when you became bikers. Mine tried to think of everything to stop me. But my mind was made up

My mum wasn't too happy ... hence I have waited this long ... althought both my father and brother are bikers! But apparently it is different because they are men! |

Dad seemed quite excited (though I'm sure if he reads this he will tell a totally different story) that he had another automotive vehicle to tat with... Mum on the other hand, I'm not too sure about. After asking me exactly whose bike it was, she didn't talk to me for a while.
Then both went safety mad... leathers, helmet, training, safe, don't die etc etc.
Now I think they both still worry, but Mum secretly thinks it is very cool... I know she does - Dad does too - don't you!? ____________________ Avast! Pirates ahoy!

Good on ya
Guess you must be missing the weather from out there. But riding in the rain can be fun, honest... |

Riding in the rain ... ... not sure about that! Done a few lessons in it and don't mind it as long as it is not windy. Guess it is the excitement of riding as it is still a fairly new experience.
certainly missing the long and warm summers, sprngs and autumns! |

I was given some grief when i upgraded my VFR400 to the ZX6.. After I burnt some guy off in an MR2 turbo down a motorway slip, and up the motorway.... whilst failing to spot my dad sitting about 3 cars back...
He did say it sounded cool tho |

Well It was my parents who took me along to buy my first (and only )moped, so they can't of been that arsed, although I think they fell for the salesmans bulshit that i'll never want a motorbike i'll have teh "Scooter-bug"!
I have an arguement every day at least 5 times about my next move. I tend to get childish and throw threats back at them which they shut up to. I think their biggest problem is the fact they lent me money for a car and I'm selling it to buy a bike

Well, I think I had £1000 to put towards an NSR125, Dad offered to match it if I bought a car, I declined and they moaned for weeks!
Now I have a GSXR 750, my little brother bought my NSR and they think it's great!?!
Every Sunday all I hear is "where" are you going today" etc.
The funny thing is they lecture my brother, "listen to your brother", I hope you ride as good as your brother" blah, blah... (even though I'm shit)
They used to hate them! Now they think it's cool! Dad comes home from work saying stuff like "my mates ZXR is amazing" and stuff!!! They really do show an interest.
Goes to show though, doesn'it! |

My mums picked all my bikes for me and even got me started with a stonking TS 50 (hasn't paid for all of them though ) Between minimoto and trail riding I don't even get hassle for crashing any more.
Dads always had bikes been going on them since I was a sprog so it was inevitable I'd end up with one. ____________________ Poking death in the eye with a pointy stick then running away |

My mum always said she'd disown me if I ever got a bike.
I got a bike - she wasn't too chuffed about it but she still talked to me.
I've sold it, she is relieved.
Until today, when I got a new job and announced my masterplan to do Direct Access and get a CBR600 for the summer. |
