older the RS the more it will of been beaten by 17 year olds.
My advice would be go for the CBR125 as it's less maintenance which you won't be use to and 2 stroke maintenance is a lot more expensive.
But if you go for an RS looks for proof of rebuilds, well looked after etc . . . but i'd say go for the CBR125 ____________________ Past - CG125 ,KR1S, SV650s, Street Triple R - Current - Duke 390

i would love to have either of them but i dont think i will be going near anything under a 2002 maybe 2000, i have been looking at a few rs's on ebay and i like them alot, i have rode one about 2 month ago and really liked it which when i sat on the bike i thought i wouldnt, what sort of miles should i be lookin for on bikes from 02-06, also are the nsr's as quick as the rs, keep the suggestions cumin, thanks lads ____________________ CR 125 (OFFROADER) - DEP PIPE ETC

RS has a slightly higher top speed and a bit better handling on paper, at the expense of riding position for general use.
In real life, the faster one is the one with the faster rider on.
As for your change of direction, afraid I don't know much, but here's a pic ...

Restricted and derestricted the RS and NSR will be about the same power wise, the Mito will give you more derestricted. The RS is likely to need a top end rebuild more often than the NSR.
When buying the mileage is not so important as the care it has received. The engines need rebuilding much less frequently if they have been run on quality oil and warmed up before riding. Both engines will normally need a top end rebuild around every 10,000 miles (16,000 km), although you maybe able to get 20,000 miles out of a well cared for NSR, so a question to ask will be when it last had a rebuild, and if it is due one make sure it is reflected in the price.
A common fault on the RS125 is that the speedo cable/drive fails, and this can mean that the mileage shown on a used RS125 can be less than what it has really done, so ask the owner if it has suffered from this common fault. |
