For a week or two now my headlight has been misting up. Makes the bike look dirty even when its clean Confused

https://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh163/adam673673/DSC00714.jpg

So, i took the fairing off:

https://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh163/adam673673/DSC00725.jpg

And was suprised that with the amount of water in there i could of had a healthy gold fish in there...

https://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh163/adam673673/DSC00718.jpg

This will be why then! I knew the headlight had been repaired. Obviously the person who repaired it wasnt any good! Any quick bodge ideas for sealing this?

https://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh163/adam673673/DSC00724.jpg

So out comes the water:

My other question is, is the front clear plastic on the headlight designed to be easily removed as i think i will need to clean the inside of the lense so i do not get water marks there. I had a quick go but was getting nowhere and the water was making me wet Neutral

Thumbs Up

Ive got some silicone stuff so will use that for a tempory fix.

Upon closer inspection of the clear lense i found out that some of the fixings have also been repaired so even if it could come off, it wont now!

So looks like im stuck with water marks on the inside unless anyones got a bright idea?

Get a hair drier in the hole to dry it out fully.

Will still leave slight watermarks. But wont be as bad as if you let it dry naturally.

My mate Keith stunts a 636, His headlights are REALLY full with water. We were actually considering putting a Goldfish in there for comedy value. Laughing

It's a real mission getting headlight lenses off. We did it to Podd's R6 once. Because he had 2 cracked sets of headlights, but between them had 2 good lenses. So we made up one good set of headlights from the two dead ones.

You have to heat it up for ages, and use some brute force too.

I gave up on the idea of taking the lense off as soon as i noticed that some of the clips holding it on had been "repaired" also.

Seemed a bit dodgy to take off so ive just done a tempory fix till i find another headlight cheapish.

When the insides of my lenses get dirty, I spray some windowlene in there and stick some paper towel on my finger and clean the insides that way. You could also use a pencil for the parts your finger can't reach (Shocked)

What about one of those silicone packs you get in packaging? They're designed to absorb moisture. Chuck some of them in, leave um for a day or so, then tip them out and seal it?
