hi, tried taking the restrictors out of my zx6 today. got as far as taking the top half off the air box so i could see the slides in the carbs. what do i do now?

also, when taking the fuel tank off there was a loose tube at the rear end of the tank (which would be under the seat) what does it connect to?

(it's on the right hand side in this pic, the little metal bit sticking out)

over flow pipe links to a pipe that comes out near bottem of swing arm iirc

thats ur over flow pipe dont worry next step is to take the rest of the air box off then the carbs come off then you will see some rubber tubes the cabs conect to the motor with just inside these are some big silver plates with a hole cut in them whip them out re asemble evrything and ur done! sorry new technical terms dont know how much you know or dont know if u need any adivce or get stuck just PM me and will explane what you need to do hope that helps

so i have to actually take the carbs out? right. i'll try it tomorrow then when i have time and don't have to reassemble the bike ultra quick because i've remembered i need it to go to work. Mr. Green

It's not always just washers, they sometimes fit slide stops under the diaphragm caps too. Check your restrictor certificate, it state whether it's inlet blade (washers) and stops which I think are referred to as caps, this is usually done on bigger engines I think so not sure if it's used in the ZX6R.

not quite mate. i've got a haynes manual and was following that. didn't want to take bits off that weren't necessary and as for the overflow pipe, it didnt mention anything about it so i wanted to know what it was.

we've all gotta start our knowledge somewhere.
