basically looked at a bike todai runs fine and everything but when you rev it needle didnt move to show u what revs your doing so is it just a spedo cable?

Not really sure what you mean. Has it got two clocks? A speedo and a tacho?

If not, then just a speedo.

If yes, then check the cable is present and connected securely at both ends. (engine and clock) If it is, check the condition of the cable and if required, replace it. If a new cable doesn't solve it im guessing the actual clock is knackered. Sad

its got the rev clock and the speedo clock if that makes sense im taking delivery of it tmz so il check that they are connected and everything and ask the man cheers.

Could be something simple like the owner unplugged the cable to stop him/herself relying on the counter (maybe if the bikes a learner bike <125)? Could be that the cable had once broke and they never bothered replacing it, cant really see it being any more than a cable, at max. £10. Thumbs Up

or it could be disconnected for a reason, ie: to lie about the mileage.
does the speedo work too?

True, but they are seperate cables aren't they, so they would probably only disconnect the speedo cable as the rev cable is noticable from standstill. Thumbs Up

they arent all cable operated y'know.

Would be easier if you said what bike it is in your first post then we would know if your tachometer is cable driven or driven off electrical impulses.

mine is a chinese copy of the cbr and that has electronic rev counter (as does the cbr itself) my honda cb twin has a cable driven one, realy we need to know the bike before we can help
