15k for an R1. What a damn waste of money. I'm sure you could get a standard R1 up to that spec with less cash.

Probably be a collectors' item in the future, but don't really think it warrants it.

I doubt it would be much cheaper too do it. Ohlins all round £3000, Wheels £2000, Bodywork £1000

I ignored the bodywork, since that is totally pointless. Wink

New, un-registered Limited Edition SP1. No 497 of 500 WORLDWIDE, Only 50 brought into the UK. Marcheshini Wheels, Ohlins Forks and Rear Shock, Carbon bodywork as standard. Possibly the last un-registered 1 in the UK.

Agree.

I'm suprised at the negativity. If it wasn't for the price, would people be a bit more positive?

I think it's absolutly stunning.

Given how tasty the 09 R1 is shaping up to be, methinks thats going to be a pretty hard sell Sad

I dont think its negativity, just indifference.

All the bike appears to be is an R1 with a few trick bits thrown at it which doesn't make it anything thats going to cause a stirring in my pants Angelic

i live near a yamaha dealer so see R1's a lot and it doesnt seem that different, for that money i'd buy a 1198/1098 or something along those lines if i wanted fancy bits and a better looking bike (with the exception of those fugly mirror/indicators)

Nothing special and not worth 15k imho, other things id spent 15k on, 1198S for a start not just another r1 with some expensive forks.

Boring bike. Might aswell spend the money on a bike that's a bit special like something Italian. Razz

£15,000 for the bike and it STILL has ferkin rubber brake lines! What is it with the Japanese and their rubber fetishes?
