Anyone used them?
What are they like for making claims since everything is online?
Do they ask for proof of 33bhp?

Cheers Steve

Not used them myself but they are a option this year as they are doing a nice cash back offer via quidco.

everyone has different opinions on insurance companies, and i have heard a lot of bad stuff about e-bike.

saying that though when i had to make a claim with swiftcover for my car i read some really bad stuff that made me think i would be waiting months.
however they made the first offer on tuesday (made claim day before good friday so bank holiday weekend) and we had come to a complete arrangement just over a week later.

i could not fault them but as mentioned a lot of people could.

I've always used Ebike and found them excellent. I've had several breakdowns with previous bikes I've had to use their inclusive breakdown cover for. I've also had an accident which they dealt with and got me 100% 3rd party fault so all in all, well recommended! Thumbs Up

P.S I'm also restricted which you select in one of their online drop down menu's as a licence type, no need for proof for the bike though. I guess you might need proof if you were ever in an accident and it was your fault.

I use eBike. No complaints from me. They don't ask for proof of your mods, like beanfeast said. Rather you just put your licence type (A2 if it's restricted) and there's a section where you can declare modifications to the bike. A 33bhp kit is on this list. IIRC it won't actually affect your premium by declaring it.

If you pay for your insurance monthly I'd say go for the pay as you go policy. It works out about the same as installments after interest and you get a year's no claims in 8 months. Especially worth it if you're a younger rider.

I have used them for a few years. On the whole they have been good except when they kept chasing me for proof of NCB and threatened to cancel my policy despite the fact that my previous policy had been with them!! Lot's or promises of call backs which never happened. Took 2 weeks to get it sorted.

They are cheap though and the online system is very good.

Thanks everyone Karma
For me it works out about the same pay monthly on 1 bike, but I'm looking at a multibike policy which works out a bit more.
1021 for my R6 + divvy tpo with all mods declared or 958 with none.
Or 853 just for the R6 with none declared.

Oh and I have the restrictors but I just bought them off ebay and fitted myself so have no proof of having them installed Which is something I hate about insurance companies.

When I made a claim with them in '07 they were terrible.

However, they seem to have improved greatly since then. Perhaps it has something to do with a switch from being underwritten by Endsleigh to Norwich Union.

I have my strokers on two multi-bike policies with them, cheapest by a long way.

Also, they don't charge an admin fee for mid term adjustments which means most changes are free.

Theyre always really cheap but check out the excesses (not the voluntary excess) and if you do have to claim they become very expensive. I still insure with them but its a bit of a gamble, as if i have to claim they'll cost more in the long run....

I was with them and had a claim and they where terrible, after reporting my accident, and the bloke I hit doing the same I rang them just over a week later to see what was going on, to be told "we have no record of a claim being reported" gave them the details again, then rang them a week later to be told the same thing, got passed round half a dozen different people in different departments (spoke to the same people several times) and got so frustrated that I hung up, rang the guy involved, who said the garage had recieved payment and he had his car back. Rang them again to see what was going on and they where still clueless.

As Tricolor fan said, I got the impression it was due to switching underwriters, which they where still going through the process of in may 2008.

They also seem to jack up their price after you do a quote, I did one in may, for me and another rider riding two bikes, which came out as 40 odd, did it again just over a month later using exactly the same details and it came out as 80 odd.

I've insured 2 bikes with them now and I've always found them to be good.

They were really good when I got knocked off back in '05, got me a £3500 payout and even sent me a £400 cheque for uninsured losses without any receipts even though they kept asking me for them.

Thumbs Up

Ins prices are very fluid, and can change on a daily basis, which is why a quote is valid for 30 days....

You might get lucky and it goes down, then again it may go up.

Just done a quote with them as mine is soon due to be renewed.. One thing i do not like is that you are unable to deselect legal ins and breakdown cover.
Which i'm not happy about as i have both covered on other polices.

Not claimed with them, although currently running the pay as you go.

However they were nice enough to investigate my import and add it to the list of bikes they insure, depite it being on a Q plate.

Adding the superdream cost me a couple of quid a month and was done mid policy with absolutely no fuss or admin charge (in fact I effectovely got a couple of weeks free)

They aren't the cheapest quotes that I have had, but my only real complaint is I want 3rd party extention to ride any bike and they can't/won't arrange that for me.

They also allow multiple riders on multiple bikes, which is a rarity.
