if the grips are total useless
i would use a sharp stanley knife and just cut from end to end and there fall off.

Use hairspray. It acts as lubrication when you put the grip on, and then it dries and holds it in place! Smile

Christ no ! I personally use petrol or thinners wiped around the bars then shove the grip on, some peaople suggest using hairspray, being a lads only household we don't have any here so Ive never tried it.

I used utube when i needed to install my hot grips.

Basically get your bar ends off
insert a small scewdriver in between the rubber and the plastic/steel depending what side you on and rotate round to losen any glue.
Then get a bigger screwdriver and insert then spray wd40 into the space and rotate again grip should slip off then clean .

use glue on both sides and slip new grips on, use rubber hammer aswell..

Check utube it will give u hinters

personally i steer clear from using any oil based stuff to get grips on or off, as said hairspray is the best, acts as a lube on and sticks like .... to a blanket.

Well turn the fuel tap off then........

You can slit them with a stanley knife, but far safer is screwdriver and wd 40.
Then a good clean and hairspray to get the new ones on. I don't like to use glue, as sods law says it will stick and leave them in the wrong place.

hi,
seeing as were talking about using hair products.
why not heat the old grips up with a hairdryer, till they become plyable , then they should be easier to remove.just peel them off.
(dont want to cut through the throttle tube with a sharp knife)
then whip out the hairspray & coat the inside of the new grips/outside of the bar & slide the the new grips on.
cheers,
GAZ
