Anyone doing this?

With nolimits, £89.

If the weathers half decent, its a lot of track for that kinda money!

Cant wait. Will be a bit of a family day, what with me, my brother (Matty21) and our Dad out on track.

Bro and Dad will be in Novice, I've booked in Inters.

This'll be my 3rd trackday, cant fuckin' wait Thumbs Up

Anyone else game? Quite cheap Thumbs Up

Oh, and Thundersport GB will be hosting their racing season finale there in 2009. Just a random bit of info there Laughing

Working.

Chances are I won't be out until after my exams now, so that's the end of May.

I done Rock international last year, was quite a good track, lots of corners but only getting into 4th along the pit straight. But I did enjoy it, until some twat rear ended me while braking for turn 1. I stayed on, he didn't! Middle Finger Laughing

I'm off to Snetterton a week Sunday, then off to Cadwell at the end of March, both open pit lane days. Just those two booked at the moment.

Fair play Barry.

I assume by turn one you mean after youve exited pits, the first hairpin? Kudos for staying on Laughing

Tbf, I only got into 5th gear on the straights, and even then, not much point really. I love the high 2nd gear corners moving into 3rd on that double apex. Drooling

No, end of the pit straight, the little chicane. You dont actually use the corner part of the banking. It's actually your second photo, going into that chicane!

I thought something on the bike had broken at first, until I looked over my shoulder to see some chap sliding along the floor! Laughing

Ah right, i thought that but then wondered if people would class the first part as when you start, not the start/finish straight.

He must have hit you at a fair speed Shocked , I know my entry speeds for that chicane were probably pushing 80-90mph, and Im not the fastest out there by a long shot. I actually really like the chicane, think its nice and challenging. I reckon pushing 150/160mph into the first hairpin might not be so good for trackdayers if the chicane wasnt there Laughing (Though would be fun as fuck to try and get it right)

I also fuck it up on one of my videos Laughing

I never used the brakes into that corner, just down 1 gear and was back on the power at the first apex.

I can only imagine the guy that hit me was in some sort of day dream and completely missed his brake point. I came up behind a couple of other bikes at that corner who were going a bit slower than me, and rather than overtake them (would have pushed them out wide if I did) I stayed behind them. Then I feel this thud just as I'm tipping it into the corner, look over my shoulder and see stupid sliding along the floor! Laughing

I got away with a tyre mark on my exhaust and swingarm. Very Happy

I'll be doing that one, probably twice. Maybe 3 times if I can fit it in.

Love that track, even if it is expensive! Thumbs Up

Earlier in 2008, I was sent away with work to work in Quebec for a month and a half. We're good friends with the Local Dealer (I fund the parts department Laughing ) and we usually get large discounts etc.

They gave me and my dad free trackday tickets for a testing day at Donnington. Sharing a garage with Ron and Leon Haslam, while they were testing tyres on new Blades. Dad and his mate got to ride around the track with the Rockets.

Mrs Haslam made my family cups of tea and food!

And I was in Canada. I almost cried, I swear to god.

Brands GP is a bit over-rated to my mind, definitely for the price. Most of the GP circuit is pretty 'simple' - though I definitely could do with more speed around there (though managed a couple of Sixth's on the SV, but more to do with others taking it easy) - it's the Indy circuit that provides the more 'challenging' riding.
Would have liked to have done it before they made all the changes, looked much better then.

I may well be up for this Rockingham Thumbs Up.
Though haven't ridden on track for nearly two years, so don't know if I should start in Inters as I'm going to be very Rusty.

Oh dear, dont let me be in the same group as G Laughing

My excuse is that I have touring tyres on with a shitty 60 profile front that doesnt let me lean it as far + quickly as I would like to, to tip into a corner Shifty

Laughing

I just think its a great price for a great track. Hopefully the weather will be ok, I think temperatures will be fine at the very least, its just rain. Eek.

Worried I might hold you up?
I was riding slowly on the trumpet when I was racing it, never mind that the last time I was on it, it catapulted me a significant distance into the air.

And doubt I'd be going fast enough to push 60 profile touring tyres (if you're managing to constantly keep them on the limits, you should probably be in some national racing class Smile ).
On supercorsas, I regularly ran out of traction before I ran out of tyre on the SV, thanks to hanging off appropriately.

Its not a difficult track Garth...well not to get used to anyways, I would suggest Inters, I've seen how fast you are.

When I did my first day at Rock I was in Inters, you'll be fine. The pace generally seems to be lower there than at most other circuits.
