My bottom front tooth is giving me some discomfort.
There appears to be nothing wrong with it, but every now and again it dishes some pain out.
FYI, i brush regular and look after my teeth, i can't see anything wrong with it. Confused

Just had no idea why it would cause me pain if it looks like theres nothing wrong.

Thumbs Up for clove oil,
There could be nowt wrong with your tooth, sometimes teeth just throb, i get it every now and again, especially if i brush to hard, goes off after a day or so. i'd go to the dentist if it keeps up though.

You won't like it, but it works
teaspoon of salt in warm water...rinse gently and repeat
do this and it will ease your pain

Clove oil will only really help if there is a path to the nerve of the tooth (usually caused by the decay making a hole to there). If there is no obvious decay then it could be a number of things - gum related, relating to the micro-ligaments that are attached to the tooth, or it could just be transient sensitivity.

What kind of pain is it? Is it sharp shooting pain, or a dull ache. Does it come and go with certain things? Do hot or cold drinks make it worse/better? If you genuinely want the possibility of a little more insight then a picture of tooth and gum may give a bit more info, but in all honesty all I would be able to say to you is that either yes I can see something and you should go to a dentist or no I can't see anything and you should prob go to a dentist!

Sorry, Stu

When my last wisdom tooth started playing up last year I was in agony, tried everything and nothing worked for longer than a few minutes, just happened to have a packet of Palmer Voilets in my pocket and thought fuck it and started eating them, seriously within minutes they'd taken the edge of the pain and kept it off for hours... Thumbs Up

I lived on them for the few days it took for the appointment to roll around...

Get a mirror and have a look behind your tooth, might look ok from the front but you need to check there's nothing at the back!

Yeah, wisdom teeth are a gits like that - even if you give them enough room to erupt they sometimes don't. You get problems when they partially erupt because you cant clean it very well and it just gets decayed. Think you know what you need to do though!

It's hard to say - It really depends on what the pain is like. I mean there is a certain amount of pain that results from teeth erupting (you ever heard a baby when they are teething?!) and if it's associated with that then it should go away with time. However, if the tooth is decayed (a distinct possibility if it was closely related (ie impacted) to the other molar which you got out because - presumably - it was decayed ) and it's toothache pain it's pretty much impossible to do a filling or anything else on something which isn't fully erupted - for most of the materials we use to work well the tooth needs to be kept dry, which isn't an option if there's a bit of gum over it!

In all honesty, it's very hard to give medical/dental advice over the phone or internet since there are so many factors that need to be considered which can be done in about 5mins in a surgery, but are much harder to do over the web!

Sorry I'm repeating it again but best thing to do would be to get yourself to a dentist while it's still not so sore that you don't care what happens to it - this way you may have options.

Cheers, Stu
