ok my opinon

1. On two stroke bikes, there should be a level indicator where you put the two stroke oil in. Keep it as close to the max level as possible. It works on a total loss system so you never "change it"

2. Any decent two stroke oil will do, Synthetic or semi, best people to ask are your local bike shop. (or the guys on here if you tell us what bike)

3. All you need is your license (both parts). Most training schools will lend you a helmet/jacket/gloves. If you have your own kit then take it along. Again confirm with your training school.

4. People say dont use a pressure washer, but you can so long as your carefull. Keep the seat on and dont spray water directly onto the battery and you'll be fine.

Both parts.. all I have is provisional..?

1. Engine/gearbox oil should be changed according tho the manufacturer's shedules. Look in your owner's handbook

2. Put the best in that you can afford. The better 2-stroke oil you use, the longer the engine will last.

3. Dunno

4. Don't worry about that, you could wash the battery in soapy water and it would do no harm. Just get a bucket & sponge and have at it. Rinse with a hose.

Yeah, you get two parts to a provisional. A card and a paper counterpart! You need to take both along with you on the day Thumbs Up

No. 3: Theres nothing you 'have' to wear, just as long as you are sensible in your choice i.e. jeans and boots (normal boots will suffice) and not tracksuit bottoms and trainers etc. etc. then you will be fine.

there the only questions I can think of right now But i know I have loads more lol

1) Check almost weekly as if it is anything like the RS125 you will need almost a litre of oil a week. Well i did when I had mine but in fairness I was wracking some serious miles.

2) Top quality stuff only, I made the mistake of buying cheaper stuff not much after I had it, I soon ran into problems and my RS was in the garage suffering allsorts. Expect to pay around £12-£13 per litre bottle.

3) Sensible biking gear, if you go like a chav in trainers etc you will be treated like a chav and most likely told to go home.
Boots, Bike trousers if you have them, Bike Jacket etc etc

4) Dont worry to much about washing your bike, dont, just ride it! Mr. Green Thumbs Up

1/2. Remember peeps on a 2t you have to change the gearbox oil, check your service book on when to change it it may be worth changing it anyway if you have just bought it second hand. Keep the 2t topped up as well my RXS needed the 2t filling up every 3 petrol fills or so. You don't really neeed top quality stuff if it is a moped, the top quality stuff is meant to be for high reving race tuned 2ts by all means use it but the only difference will be in you wallet. I think Tesco sell 2t oil for £2.50 for half a litre.

3. You dont really have to wear anything special on a CBT, it's advisable to go looking prepared to give the right impression. I wore a leather jacket boots and jeans to mine.

4. Don't worry about getting the battry wet when you wash it just be sensible i.e. don't squirt a pressure washer under the seat.

But he's not riding an RS125, he's riding a 3hp 50cc scooter. Not exactly in the same league is it Rolling Eyes

RS125 = 200bhp+ per litre
50cc scooter = 60bhp per litre

The cheapest oil you can get will be perfectly fine. Look for Jaso FB on the back of the bottle, if it has this, it will be safe to use in your scooter and you will get many happy motoring miles from it.

EDIT: For cheap 2 stroke oil, go to a Morrisons filling station. They have bottles of Carlube 2 stroke oil, it's about £1.20 for 1/2 litre.

Chris, you don't have to change the gearbox oil on a 50cc scooter. The only gearbox oil is about 100ml in the rear of the transmission. It will outlive the scooter. The only time it needs changing is if you open it up for some reason.

You'll find on most bikes you have to turn the ignition on then press a button. The starter button should be on your right handlebar. Automatic scooters usually will not start on the button unless you hold the back-brake on while pushing the starter (lever on the left-hand side).

Don't touch the throttle. The automatic choke should do the rest for you. Just hold either brake and press the button.

It is more likely in need of a new battery. When you've ridden it for a long run will it start immediately on the button then? If it does you need a new battery. If it doesn't it could be something else.

Yes it could still be. Generally the lights require far less power to work than the starter motor.
